Yes, I'm familiar with that site and all of those games run only on OS 9. I can still boot in "Classic" mode with my iMac G5 and play those games perfectly. All the Intel users (All new macs) are out of luck, however.

Well yes, it does normally just work for abandonware but you can get the doom .wads for the doom engine there. It's normally hard to find doom .wads.

iSquint for converting movies for ipod

That's cheating! You cannot return volley the same point with a different sentence!

It's a different point? Your was referring to the zapping sound effect, mine to the price tag?

And I believe I just did :p

I would add to the mix:

1passwd - Helps remember website passwords. Like Roboform on PC
Rapidweaver - for website design
WingNuts 2 - for a good maccentric game
Klondike Forever - for a good card game
Photo Desktop - to place photos on your desktop screen. Pretty slick program
Steel - to keep info safe and secure in 1 spot.
PandoraJam - Pandora music player and demo version works great. Create radio stations that match your style
Adium - is a must for MSN/AOL type chat
Overflow - program launcher if your dock isn't large enough
Superduper - Excellent drive/folder backup program.
Whatsize - good program to find out what's eating up space on your drive and what you can delete.
App Zapper - Removes installed programs. I recommend this + using finders built in spotlight to get what App Zapper missed. It isn't a necessary program, but App Zapper is a brainless way to delete programs.

Oh you can find most programs on www.versiontracker.com OR www.macupdate.com
Check those sites regularly. It's amazing how well they stay on top of the new stuff coming out.

Enjoy the mac experience. It's a whole new world and damn it looks good! Remember to pass along the mac good will and help out someone down the road who needs a helping hand when they convert! It's what makes this community so awesome.

Cheers!
