I have just sold my iMac on eBay because I know for sure that there will be an update. It might not be a redesign but there will be an update. The iMacs are currently overpriced for having an outdated processor. Don't take me wrong, the current processors are awesome but not worth the price.

I would give it 1 month tops for an update and hopefully a redesign.

There will be an update for sure and if you can wait I would. You can hold your resale value on the iMac if you get the newest version, specially for the fact that Santa Rosa supports up to 4GB RAM, while the current iMacs only support 3 GB, that will make a big difference in the long run specially if you are keeping your computer for years to come...Just my two cents

And except for the fact that there is no technology currently to create that translucent look. You still have to put a processor, drive, and all the other innards in there, all of which would have to be much small for that machine to exist. Don't get me wrong, I love that rendition, but while it's great to drool over it, it's not realistic anytime soon.

This goes without saying. But one day, perhaps.

You're really going out on a limb. In fact, you must work for Apple to have such insider information. I bet you're even on the iMac team. And to think, you've been posting right along beside us all this time.

Well chances that there won't ever be an update is pretty slim. So I guess I too can say that I know for sure that there will be an update, and that it will be sometime this year. :p

It's a 27" screen with 250Gb harddrive, Intel Core Duo 2,16 and 1Gb Ram.

new imac

Speakers are under the screen.

I think 1Gb is enough because leopard only requires 512Mb.

ps. i'm not good in making thoose designs. I just do it for the fun.

Probably September, that special event they did on the 12th last year (of September), when they released the new iPod family.

I don't think they actually released it the day of the keynote... if memory serves me right Apple released the imac on the 5th of September, on a wednesday, and the Keynote for the Special Event was on the 12th. Or something of that nature.
