hmmm so wont be as quick as the 3.06?

basically just a better gfx card in it then?

i'm assuming no.

I imagine and hoping

higher rated HD.
Better gfx.
high ghz.
i'm praying 2g ram minimum.
possible isight from 1.3mpx to something higher..

and more features hopefully. more firewire and usb ports would be nice.

What do u mean by base imac though?

Meaning low end

im a vista/window$ user and im wanting to get onto mac asap!!! lol

so all the terms for the mac is all new to me..

when you go to the apple store online.

There are different $$ models.

Mainly it effects the Processor / Ram / HD.

Base means what it says. Base. Minimum purchase required. Cheapest.

The 3.06 you speak of is the most expensive Imac they offer atm.

Okay, fine, but other than that it's pure speculation.

It will have a hard drive, either the same size or larger than the current ones, so we know the hard drive size.

It will have a processor, one slightly faster or equal to the speed of the current ones, so we know the processor (and based on the current MacBook family, we know the processor line).

It will have DDR3 RAM, and, with Apple's current trend, 2GB standard on the low-end model.

The screens will be LED backlit, based on Apple's open letter to us about their displays.

We already know what it will look like, because there won't be a design change this time around.

See? We know a lot.

You asked for it...

:D

One has laptop internals, the other has desktop components?

Well yeah I was meaning would be more stronger and more powerful then the high end that is the current 3.06ghz iMac? As I was I looking to buy that one but will wait only if someone can tell me for certain if the new model that will b out soon (high end) out perform the current high end 3.06ghz??

Basically I'm asking and wanting to know if the next high end iMac out perform the current high end iMac 3.06ghz???

This is based on no information what so ever but: Yes. When you look at the current macbook line up, and assume those hardware parts will be used in the mac (DDR3, new graphics), I say double yes. I knew the first yes already because: why make a new model, thats slower than the older one? No sense to me

Yeah this is true, its just i am so keen on getting the 3.06ghz imac (high end) and well was curious to know if it was worth waiting for the next high end imac!
hehe

:apple:FTW!!!

First thing in the morning I will call them and ask what they know.

Probably not going to get a decent answer, more like.. "I don't know.. I don't know more than what you can see on the web".

However, I will report back here...

Any news on the follow up phone call?

Clearly nothing to be released today, but given the fact that the 9th is a monday, next week would seem likely no.

it's gone

Just went to the link in the original post and the page has been taken down. It says something that I think translates to

Product Not Found.

Can anybody confirm my translation. Thanks!

Yea, "Produkten kunde inte hittas" it means "product cannot be found" same thing as you said.

Guess no swede called to check what this was about before they took it down?
Maybe someone at Apple read this thread and made sure they removed the item from their list - there ahd to be a reason for them to put it up in the first place :)
Oh well, dead rumor then...
