I know someone that works at one of the apple stores.. they're one of the managers here. The 3rd seems to be the winner.

I've been waiting for new iMacs as well. He told me that there are new iMacs coming in tomorrow. There are 5 of them. The same price ranges as before as well as a $2499 model.

So possibly a 28" model coming in?
Interesting how today's rumors all say 4 (20" + 3 24"). So maybe the 28" is an "extra" model? Looks good to me, no comment on plausibility.

You may want to reevaluate your friendship with that person, depending on the announcement. :D

There will be no 28" model. That's just dumb. 24"-29" panels have the same resolution, so it would just be bigger pixels; something that Apple hates doing. Any model larger than the 24" would be a 30".
28" does have the advantage of a likely bigger internal area, which means more room for cooling. Given that it looks like the iMacs will retain dual-cores (for whatever reason), a 28" may be what Apple needs to include quad-core).

But then again there aren't any ≤65 W quad-cores at or above 3.07 GHz.

Interesting hypothesis I thought up just now though…maybe the reason why Apple "only" uses a 3.07 GHz dual-core at the high-end may be because they want to put in a custom ≈3 GHz 65 W quad-core in the 28" iMac! Plus, that iMac may not be shipping for a while, which explains the lack of product numbers.

/wishful thinking (it doesn't completely match up with what we know anyway)
