Sounds exactly like something a lot of us would want, so, No, not a chance Apple would do it.Multiple news sources have reported about Intel's forthcoming Skull Canyon NUC which has a similar dimension to the Mac Mini but possesses a 2.6GHz quad-core, Iris Pro 580 GPU, TB 3 with full USB 3.1, HDMI 2, etc. This will not be available until May.
Does anyone else think this might portend a new quad-core Mini? Or at least a very solid hackintosh?

You should have tried a SuperMac J700, now that was a versatile machine.I own a late-2012 2.6ghz i7 Mini. Possibly the best Mac I've ever had.
(I came up the ladder with SE, SE.30, IIci, PowerMac 6100, UMAX c600 and s900, PowerMac 9600, Mac g4 MDD, 2006 white Intel iMac).
I've got a 2.3 i7 Quad Mini, and I'd sure like a more powerful version with better graphics.

At least they're catering to their market, more than I can say for Apple."Homely" is being too kind, it looks like a router or a hub. And the skull makes it look like a twelve year old designed it. Way to aim for market share.

Good to see they're willing to put a $60 drive in, and only charge $200 for it. Seems like a step in the right direction.2016 is the year where apple will remove any hdd with 5400 and 7200 rpm
Default fusion drive until next year and gone this as well
