My only request would be if they could fold and form a stand like the Apple one.

Thanks! Yeah, I'd love to make them foldable, but a) that would require industrial-grade adhesives to keep them from falling apart over time, and b) embossed leather designs would very quickly start to disappear or distort with repeated folding. Sadly.

But I use a TwelveSouth Compass stand, and it works beautifully. Very portable and versatile.

Not that I'm in the market for an iPad now (3rd gen iPad doing perfectly fine), but non-bulkiness is key for me, along with no case crevices for dirt to get lodged in, which is why I like the smart cover, even if it is pricey. That being said, I'd only want leather, not polyurethane because I'm pretty sure the latter isn't as durable. Definitely like the leather feel, too. Disappointed in the colours. I don't want my iPad to look like toy. I have the navy leather one that I love. When I get a new iPad, if that's still the colour scheme, I'll unfortunately just go with black. I also wish they kept the 4-panel form.

I've seen your covers on Etsy before and would be tempted to buy yours if not for the fact they can't be folded. I rarely fold it up into a triangle, but just in half, because I don't like dirtying the screen side of the cover on the table, etc. Will definitely check your store out when I'm iPad-hunting again.

I just need to get one of Apple's covers in hand to make sure I've got the right measurements and magnet placement. So, in a couple weeks, I guess.

cover is leather:

for me, the smart case leather held up well, but the micofiber proved to be a dirt magnet and uncleanable. I think double sided leather would have been better. Also--I had a light color--so my perception may be influenced

That's so funny because I just got a used, 1st-gen smart cover and I was very impressed that the microfiber cleaned up as easily as it did.
What is it with Apple and these silly steps backward on the simplest things?

Im using the Air 1 red leather Smart Cover on the Air 2 and it works great. No issues at all. Plus you can find them cheaper now that it's old stock.
