Really? I am using a Mini 5 with two speaker, and they sound more than decent enough to me imo. I wonder if there are any differences between the speakers of the Air and Mini? Likely not...but perhaps our preferences on sound quality are far apart lol.

Nah, it's not that at all, but I am far too much of a gentleman to say what it actually is.

Looks like he might not take any less than $600. Still a good deal or should I wait?

I ended up going with the iPad Pro 10.5. Got it in Space Gray and 256GB. Ended up going with an open box and it just came in today and it’s literally brand new. Checked serial number and the warranty is indeed good until April 2020. I definitely lucked out. Got that and the Smart Keyboard for $587 shipped. If you want to check it out I left the link below. They even have 2 day expedited shipping included. If you want one buy it right away if it’s in stock because it’s sold out on me quite a few times while it’s in my cart.

I have read my self to death about all the advantages and disadvantages and now facing a conundrum when I'm about to buy myself:

2017 iPad Pro 10.5 64GB LTE
2019 iPad Air 3 10.5 256GB LTE

The Air is $47 more than the Pro. I only play Football Manager for games which only requires iOS 10 specs.

Go with the Pro.

My 8 year old son has the 10.5 64gb WiFi iPad Pro 2017 model. I got it for $500 brand new target Xmas 2017 specials

I just picked a 2019 iPad 10.5 64gb WiFi A12 professor for $389 no taxes from military store sale.

They both run about the same. Screen is the same to me.

The key is to pay whatever the lowest price u can for it. I wouldn’t pay $499 for new 2019 iPad 10.5.

In iOS 13 the latency of the Apple Pencil was brought down to 9 from 20. Does this include the 1st Gen Pencil? If this is the case, then the advantage of ProMotion for the 2017 Pro will be somewhat caught up by the upcoming iOS 13 update. The Air 3 seems becoming a better value?! What do you guys think?

I read through all the comparison threads and bought the Air a few weeks ago. I bought it with 256GB and I’m glad I did. I don’t care about the speakers on the pro - I find two speakers completely enough on their own watching YouTube or whatnot, and besides 90% of my listening is through headphones, plus if I want higher quality I have a good Bluetooth soundbar. Screen is excellent and I don’t find myself missing “pro motion”.

I’ll use it for now and perfect my workflows and if I need more I can always buy a NEW IPP next year. I see zero reason to buy an old 10.5 today. I’m 100% happy with my new Air 3.

I went with the Air. I'll take the a12, BT 5.0, no camera bump, and no white spot issue over the speakers and refresh rate. Just my $.02.
Same here, Air 3 256 gb and very happy. This device is fantastic. Can't wait to see what it'll do with iOS 13 !

I went Pro 10.5; 4GB Ram, Promotion (iOS 13 will make and pencil 1 even better with MP it seems), the speakers are great for lap movie watching, and a new [April 2019 production] sealed box 'refurbished' saved me $100 over the same configured AIR.

Now I'm just wondering if I did the right thing, as a self-powered (no dongle, like with the lightning port on both the AIR or IPP 10.5") USB-C port on the IPP 11" with iOS 13 and external storage sounds very tempting.

But... thinking again, this 10.5 saved me a lot of cash over the 11" [also] and will continue for years to do everything I originally got it for... [I hope so ;-!]

The way I look at it, any iPad is great, and it's just a matter of being happy with your decision.

I love the iPad Pro 10.5. I own a mini, 12.9 1st gen and purchased a new 12.9. The iPad Pro 10.5 is my favorite and go to.
I don't care for the new iPad cases by apple and love the Smart Cover so that's a plus.

I think once the iPad gains the ability to charge my Phone and the iPhone switches to USB C - the new models will be tempting.
