99% of reviews are glorified ADS, do you really purchase thing based on reviewers?
I mean they can give you an idea, but you have to filter their excitement/disappointment (especially on some cases).

They are in for the views, not to be accurate, some are afraid of loosing privileges if they say something bad about the produc they are reviewing, especially with some brands.
Yes, we all know that stuff. But there is technical info re. there being a new controller that fixes it (or heavily improves it!)...or not.

It's almost like the Earth spin and date lines start close to NZ... ;)

The posts now just seem to cut and paste old ones.
Do we also need a string of individual posts for every OS release?

"MacOS 10.xx" available...
"iOS 18.xx available..."
"WatchOS 10.xx available..."

If you are paid per post maybe otherwise a "Beta OS updates available for Mac, iPhone and Watch now live" would save a lot of scrolling ;)
Updates are available at same time everywhere…

Never noticed jelly effects in my 3 years with Mini 6. Probably will not notice it in 7 either. For those who want smaller tablets, Mini is perfect and now its chip as fast as iPad Air's m2. Fine enough.

Same here, coming from a Mini 5. Looking forward to the Mini 7 and the Apple Pencil Pro. Perfect for me when I'm out and about.

there is nothing wrong with Mini 7 in particular. It is a good product I think. If you don't like it, buy any Android tablet.

I think you are replying to someone else, i never said i didn’t like it, i have been IPad only since 2020…so i know very well the tablet market.
I earn my salary using an iPad Pro only.

While I don’t dislike the Mini, saying there’s nothing wrong is a bit superficial, as the issue is there (better than the previews versions) but still, I think be3ing vocal is something a customer should do.

If you are paying premium prices you expect premium experience, you can still like and use a product even if you have some issue with it.

Life is not black or white.

Almost entirely about gaming search rank unfortunately. And a really tiny bit about providing service to regular visitors.

As i said in another post, it is improved, for some it will be enough not to care, for some other it’s still a bad thing.

To me it’s an issue in a quality product to have such thing, it is a deal breaker? May be not, but def annoying ad i’d make my voice heard at Apple (vote with the wallet) as if you pay for a high quality product you expect just that.

Is it better? Yes, is it solved? No
Two different thing, and while i agree that 80% of regular users never noticed or perceived it as an issue to begin with, the other 20 was very vocal, of that 20% many will feel it is good / almost solved, the remaining will still be vocal and not accept a substandard product (i mean the the screen not the iPad before someone tells me to use Android or something else)

if you do notice jelly effect, just buy a tablet without it, Android or whatever else. 80% do not notice it and use with ease. Do not speak for others. I have iPad Air m1 and wife has mini6, quite happy with iPads. New buyers of mini7 at same price get faster CPU, more RAM, updated chips for AI, jelly is reduced, storage expanded, so its not a bad deal, imho.

Agreed. Some posters here are quick to call reviewers shills for not saying anything bad about Apple yet they themselves are reluctant to do the same.

Looking at Geekbench, single core performance is indeed better on the A17 Pro compared to the M2, but multicore performance is lower than even M1, and metal scores lower still.

Also the Air should have more thermal headroom.

Still impressive, but it’s probably more accurate to compare it to an M1.

I just checked out the new mini in Tokyo. I can confirm (based on my side by side comparison) that the mini 7 has the exact same amount of “jelly scroll” as my mini 6. Nothing has changed.
Or lack thereof for anyone using their tablet in the proper (landscape) format ;)

The deal with the jelly scroll is it was not on the 5 or any previous version. It showed up with the 6. I never saw it with any other iPad I have had over the years all the way back to the first one released. My mini 6 is the only device I have seen the effect on and I guess, my 7 will be the second. Oh well, nothing I can do about it but not get one but it's too good otherwise not to have a mini.

Mine arrived here in Norway about 2 hrs ago.

Been working until now, so I've not had a chance to unbox it, yet. But now I'm done with work for today, and I might postpone dinner... ;)

Give us the goods! These are the reports we need!
Three observations so far:

* The blue color is VERY muted. It looks almost gray. (Now it is late afternoon and no more daylight outside here, but still...)
* The day 1 update (to 18.0.1, I guess) takes a lot of time
* The mini's height is smaller than my partner's shiny, new 13" iPad air's width...

Looks good to me…

This message is written on the new iPad.

Video - in less than optimal lighting conditions and slightly shaky hands - from my iPhone 15pro.

Edit: the video quality showing varies from good to awful, or is that just me?

I think you need to re read my post.

Mine arrived, and the jelly is better to be fair, but still there somewhat. I never minded it much, as you don't scroll while reading, you scroll then stop to read. But still, maybe next time hey Apple, lol!

More interesting is the colour differences on the space grey's between the v6 and new v7. The v7 is lighter in colour on the main grey metal and the dividing bands are also a light grey compared to the dark grey ones on the v6.

A couple of pics here ["iPad Mini" writing is new v7] – taken in low natural light yesterday (as was end of daylight hours in UK), but even today was the same:

When I received my 7 and while looking at reviews, I thought they added the antenna bands to the new model. The bands on the 6 were darker and to me not obvious after all the time I owned it. I had to look to be sure mine had them. I dont know how I never saw them before.

I always wish they make products come in silver, for us old timers. a space gray mini when everything else is silver :( but your pic sure does make it look very very close to silver
