A12Z is much, much faster than A13.

In single core performance, the iPhone 11 Pro Max is faster. Only in multi-core performance it is slower.

And the iPad version of the A13 (I guess A13X), would see the same 20% jump also in multi-core performance while being more energy efficient at the same time.

No. A13 has a single core advantage but multi-core CPU speed of A12Z is much faster than A13.

So? The A13X would be faster than the A12X or A12Z also in multi-core performance.

But what you are missing is the energy efficiency. These new generation iPhone's got insane battery life. So I would also see this happening with the iPad Pro's.

I also hope they put in a bigger battery by making the iPad Pro a bit thicker (so it bends also less easy)

Yeah, to me that was the biggest disappointment with not having an A13 chip and its onboard power management. Battery life could have gone from 10 hours to 12-15 hours or higher.

Not only that but battery health and longevity would've improved, too.

its a mystery right now. I’m loving my 2018 12.9” and honestly at the price I paid for it, I’ve kind of had to say to myself the iPad is no longer an upgrade every cycle (or even 2) device. It’s just to much money to spend on a device that is blazing fast already. A micro display would be neat, but it will be just as neat in 2 more years when 5G technology is perfected.

Rumors say so, but nothing is guaranteed especially with the current situation... Having said that the 2-year old CPU is also a sign that it's unlikely we'll have to wait 1.5 years, at most 1 year. But again, no guarantees... If you have a decent ipad, I would wait. That's what I am going to do with my 10.5 and 12.9 (first gen)
To be fair, the rumors were that this iPad Pro was supposed to come out late last year. So, it could be that the next one may be early next year.

Micro-LED won’t be out in iPads in 2 years.

Again, mini-LED ≠ micro-LED.
