As good as the processor is claimed to be, I will say that Affinity photo definitely slows under heavy usage with high DPI. Now, this may be a program fault, and not hardware. I have high hopes for photoshop efficiently, but in truth, I prefer affinity photo at this point.

I don’t think Affinity has been updated for a couple of months. Perhaps they need to optimize it for the 2018 pros or latest iOS?

But I do think it will be interesting to see what happens when full photoshop comes out and people start comparing performances with it.

I've always been of the mind that Safari has been a memory hog. Doesn't Chrome use the same web rebdering engine as Safari?

We need some iPhones and iPads that have 6 or 8GB in order to test and see.

Suspending tasks seems like it is agressive in order to favor foreground. Code on iOS is dependent on how good the compiler and those using it. Learning to use a compiler takes time, and experience.

I block 99% if ads. I'd run w/o JavaScript too if possible, weak link. But that's not possible.

Sounds like some ads are in a race condition, threads caught in a loop. Someone trying to run crypto-mining but can't cause Safari won't let it?

My old Tab S3 came with 4GB and even with older cpu runs smoothly. My Android phones both have 6GB. For browser, I use Edge on iOS and Android, Samsung Internet on Android.

I hope Apple sees a way out: assembly language can run circles around some and throwing more cpu/ram to help.

Everything is suppose to be tested but when you load sloppy code? And iOS is now a 64-bit OS. That affects slimmer code, better memory use. Are all parties on board? No. (Android is moving to 64-bit but more slowly.)

(1Password has to, to play it safe, to not leave anything in memory, safe from snooping?)

Geez, iOS works so well that there is almost too much RAM.

Next time I buy a new car going to say...please I’d rather it not be new but carry some old stuff from last year that you need to liquidate....I don’t mind the high price though, if it last a couple years, that’s ok, at least it had the latest and greatest engine that hopefully carries it for a while till the rest falls apart

Worrying about more RAM or it's cleaning is a waste of your time. Cleaning would only work for a very short time, and what you have is all you are going to get unless you leave Apple.
