#4. The fact that it keeping the same resolution. And its powered by an A12X will be faster than most laptops.

Hmmm, hadn’t thought about that, good point. If they do keep the same resolution, with that processor, that would seem to leave allot of extra power on hand for other tasks.

#1. All those Apple logos were designed and drawn with the new Apple Pencil. Which will likey have some new must have feature.

that feature might just be a wireless charging option.

Alternatively, they can just raise the minimum price and go from selling low/medium/high to selling medium/high. I wouldn't be at all surprised if the new iPP is 128GB/512GB only.

if they're smart, given how they have been pushing the iPad Pro as a possible replacement for your laptop, it will be more like 256/1TB

Base storage won't be 128GB any time soon.

The whole idea of having a low base storage (64GB) is so Apple can encourage buyers to upgrade to 256GB. Most consumers want 128GB but Apple will force buyers to go 256GB.

Exactly. 128gb is high enough that many won't bother upgrading to the next tier. Considering huge profits are made on storage upgrades, Apple wouldn't want to miss on that gravy train.

#2. New Price not $649 probably $849 base Price. IMO.
Hopefully, NOT. I see no reason for them to increase the already high price. Just because they provide slimmer bezels and USB-C? iPad Air had slimmer bezels and was less heavy than the previous iPads but was introduced at no extra price.

The iPhone saw a price increase with the X models because they have OLED displays - and the 6.1” is exactly as expensive as the last year’s 5.8” 8+.

But If you’re right then there will be a HUGE gap in the prices of a regular iPad 6 and a 11” pro - $/€ 500 to be exact. What features will they offer to warrant that? See no reason to pay that much. My Air2/64GB will be good enough for a few more years.

UsbC maybe intel licenses tb3,faceid, 128 ssd base model...all of theese are enough reasons for apple to make the base price starting at 749$

Hopefully the prices don’t raise too much. If it does then I may be pushed towards a Surface...

Why surface? That is 80% laptop and 20% tablet

I can do 95% of what I need for my work (my own company) from an iPad, which would be my preference. However, if I get too close to the Surface price bracket I may as well just get a phablet.

If you use it by touch and not keyboard, ipad its the king,if your ipad is used more with a keyboard!then buy surface 6

Apple is raising Prices across the board. They are a Luxury computer brand. They way Mercedes Benz is to car or GUCCI is to clothes.
I'd Wager a $200 Price jump Is on the Low side.
Due to the FaceID camera system making up most of the expense.
Base LTE price was $729 for a celluar model.
My guess is $829 soon or $998

My guess is $849 and $999 keeping the $150 difference (base prices)
That would make the entry-level iPad 6/128GB (450€] a much better deal. No reason to pay more than double (or rather 3x) of that for FaceID. Thay actually added features (pencil) to the entry-level AND lowered the price a little.

Even now I see no compelling reason to choose the 10.5” IPP2 over the 6 at double the price.

Well to start you obviously are not the target for a Pro iPad. Plenty of people are using a pro for tasks that the basic iPad would actually choke on, primarily graphic intense photo and video work. Same reason people buy a MacBook Pro over a MacBook, features aside the biggest thing is usually the extra processing capability offered by the faster processor that sway people. Trust me people that use an iPad Pro, me included would easily pay the premium to utilize a quicker iPad.

Not really. I’d use a 12.9” for CuBase and sheet music. I am a musician in my free time, the keyword here being “free time”. The possibility to attach a full-size keyboard to the 12.9 is also welcome. Watching videos on it would be a much better experience, too. The larger screen has some benefits that I obviously like.

I don’t like the iPP2/12.9 because it’s heavy and bulky. I won’t use an iPad for professional work, hence not so inclined to pay a huge premium. So maybe you have a point that the iPad pro suits better a graphic artist than a hobby musician.

Upgrade complete! The Air 2 served me well for a long time...respect. But the (11”) Pro is impressing in all areas thus far.

Also picked up the Smart Folio case. Matches it perfectly & plays nicely with my existing tablet stands for when I don’t use its own.

I didn't get the Pencil, although it did work very well in store, apart from a surprising omission – it's unable to perform all gestures; Home, Control Centre & Notifications, 3 main gestures cannot be done with the Pencil, which was pretty disappointing, as a reason people may want to use the Pencil is to keep the screen clean, so if it was able to replace all finger gestures, it’d make it a more complete accessory.
