Then Verizon is a good choice because after having LTE I couldn't go back to HSPA+.

What's the difference? I went into a Verizon store a couple times to compare, most recently just today - my Galaxy Nexus (on AT&T HSPA+) vs theirs (on Verizon LTE). Theirs was faster - about 20%. Both Verizon and AT&T are in that 3-7 mbps range for downstream speed. Difference is, Verizon you drop to sub 500kbps EVDO once you get out of town. AT&T has HSPA+ over a much larger area.

Ok, I'm an idiot. Had no idea that AT&T pushed an update for the SIII a couple days ago that updated the PRL and new firmware for the LTE radio. Installed it last night and my speeds are back to normal. Carry on

More of an idiot if you think your phone has a PRL :) PRL is a file used on CDMA phones. There IS a PRL on Verizon LTE SIM cards (it's stored on the SIM, not the phone) for CDMA (NOT LTE) use.

Saturday I tested my Galaxy S3 and my sisters iPhone 4. Both are on AT&T. My S3 was mid 50's mbps her phone was around 6 mbps. LTE is a night and day difference when compared to hspa+. If you're in a good LTE city it's much more beneficial to have. Sure if you fall off LTE then AT&T is much better than Verizon in terms of speed but if I have no AT&T LTE I would rather have Verizon's LTE and then every now and then drop back to a slower speed if I get out of the LTE area.

Depends on your area, as I noted, around here (western Montana), Verizon LTE beats AT&T HSPA+ in speed - but not by very much. And the coverage is MUCH more limited.
