The first picture shoes some very nasty fingerprints there. It is a big let down for me, since I have greasy hands. But I always expected this.

What I want to know is if it scratches easily. Lets hope not.

Fingerprints should be viewable only from an angle, or because of a reflection. As soon as the screen is backlit, they should become invisible. And I guess they are easily wiped off. The coating is probably something like the one on the LCD of a digital camera.

Wow...that's a big let down? That plastic/glass gets finger prints? I've been dealing with this with Palms and iPods for years. Never been a problem. When the backlight is on, you never notice it...unless you just don't wash your hands for three days...in which case you have bigger issues.

As I said, I have greasy hands. And it is not because I don't wash them.:)

And even more, I'm a I-want-everything-clean freak.

Nice find! This conference must have taken place yesterday. The date on the iPhone was May 30th.

Hey...maybe we will have our iPhones released tomorrow!!!:apple: !!!!

I find it very funny that iPhone is the only phone to my knowledge that was announced, and every time someone manages to get a snapshot of it ... everyone salivates over it. A picture of someone holding or using the phone becomes news.

Very strange.

i agree completely it mere weeks from being released and if there is a pic of someone with it, it's huge lol. Just goes to show how good apple is at marketing

Is there something I am missing? (local joke or something)

Now I won't be able to sleep, I would be curious till your answer.:p

2nd pic looks like a screensaver. why would gearth have the clock above it?

It probably is gearth but it could be a screensaver.

DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE HOMEBUTTON IS CONVEX OR CONCAVE? I cant tell from any pics.

I remember seeing something where Jobs said that the screen is more scratch-resistant than a normal smartphone screen, let alone a touch-sensitive one. I hope this is true, but it still doesn't mean that it won't get scratched.

FWIW, Jobs always seems to have his phone in his jeans pocket, without a screen protector.

Did anyone notice that the Stocks and calculator widgets are in different places on the flickr photo's than on the Iphone photo's available at Apple.

This probably means that you can move your widgets around and place them in any fashion that you like.

Sorry to dissappoint you people. That second pic is not of google earth. Look again, it's the unlocking screen, that pic is his background. You can see his thumb over the little slider. Shame really, I never really understood why they didn't just go for a full blown google earth rather than a version of google maps. I can't think of a better way to play with google earth than with a multi-touch screen.:(

Well first I find it strange that people will go to the time and trouble to post comments like this.

Second, I see this kind of thing for all kinds of products. Spy shots of cars for example.

wishful thinking :D . That picture does show some nasty finger prints on the iPhone. Imagine what it'll look like when you start holding it to your face. Better keep a cleaning cloth with you if you want to keep that bad boy clean.
