The furniture store is Crate & Barrel. The mac store is going in right behind it should be easily visible from Roe or 119th street because of the massive apple.

Boyjoshua that is an extremely old map I don't even think that is Crate & Barrel. There used to be a gas station where Crate & Barrel is now and I think that is what is in that picture. Here is a little better map from windows maps just click on birds eye. The entire stripe mall including the Mac Store is going on that cleared dirt behind Crate & Barrel.

Is it confirmed that they will sell the iPhones in the AppleStore leawood? If so, do you all want to have a group meetup or something like that?

did you look at the map or the streetview? Use the rotation arrows at the intersection or the arrows on the street to move around on the street view. Gives you a good idea of the surroundings.

I drive past this every morning & afternoon heading to and from work, so can pop on here if I see anything happening. So far windows are still covered from what I can see from 119th.

New Leawood store

A tech person at the Plaza store told a friend of mine (yesterday) that the new Apple store at 119th and Roe would open July 11. Don't know any more details.

received this just a bit ago from the KS Bizjournal:

Apple Inc. will open its first Kansas retail store on Friday, in conjunction with the introduction of its new iPhone 3G.

The Apple Store Leawood will open at 8 a.m. Friday at 5000 W. 119th St., an Apple spokeswoman said.

The store will be in Overland Park-based Sprint Nextel Corp.'s (NYSE: S) back yard, offering the iPhone 3G three weeks after Sprint introduced the Samsung Instinct, a touch-screen phone that has been touted as an iPhone competitor

That's awesome man, I'll be there and I'm expecting like no line in the morning. Is anyone else going?

I was planning to hit up the AT&T store in Olathe... that is, until I heard about this new store at Town Center. I can't believe this is the first I'd heard of it!

Now I'm definitely planning to hit the new Apple store. My only concern is that I'm wondering how many of the Sprint-employed masses will hit that location as well. I guess the fact that Sprint employees get uber-cheap service on Sprint's network should keep most of them at bay.

Just got an official email from Apple saying the store would indeed be open on the 11th at 8:00 am. I'm sure a lot of you here got the same email but I thought I'd post it anyway for those who didn't.

I was going to head down to the plaza Apple store, but I'm thinking a lot less people will know about the Leawood store. I was going to try and be there around 6:30 AM.

I called AT&T yesterday to get my Fan removed, because I thought that classified me as a business user. The customer rep said, just because I recieve a discount on one of the line, I was not classified as a business user. Not quite sure if that's what you're asking or not. I think that if you're wanting to add the fan discount to your plan, you should just plan on doing that after the fact.

Thanks man,
I mean I am a KU student and I want to add the FAN discount to my new service. If I were to go to the Applestore, will they be able to do it there or can I add it to my account after purchasing it?

If they can't or won't do it there you can contact att later and they will adjust your bill accordingly

Well maybe I won't get there around 6:30 then, Maybe I'll just have to sleep in, and try it later in the morning. Unless the line isn't that bad in the morning. Anybody posting from the line at all, that can update the rest of us to the number of people in line?

Three right now. The employees are inside and it sounds like a party.

kcwookie, any chance of you giving a count early in the morning, I'd like to come up and wait in line, but not if there's several hundred people there.
