I think it looks fun, I would say the strong F color is too strong next to the next 5 soft colors...

maybe try switching the colors of the F and K... I mean if you have to keep those colors, not that they are bad, just the F looks too strong if not out of place imo.

I much prefer the third version, I still think the first letters after the F are a bit dull compared to the final u and c. maybe a teal or lighter blue for the first U? coming a long nicely I think

I can't decide how close the pink bar should come to the t. Whether they should come up to the horizontal bars of the t or be an equal distance or end at the previous letters.

I know you want other's input, but I say equal-distant to the top of the t, not to the edges, it makes it brought my attention to it as not right, I like the other one.

OTHER OPINIONS BEFORE I START SEEMING LIKE A STALKER!?
 
You are aware that the average human brain doesn't read the entire word, just the first few letters and last few letters, so it looks like fu...uck, right? Unless that's the point, in which case you should use a different phrase because the T breaks up the continuity.

ok... good... I thought I was the only one who saw that. I have to admit it took me like 5 times to actually read what the company name was... might have just been because the logo's so big though. I think you need to diferentiate the func from the tuck using bolding or some sort of color scheme. Or maybe its just me and my perverse mind that keeps seeing that...
 
the letter F and the letter U in red are bad ideas. What are you saying here? FU? F@&^ You?

Read up on color blindness as some portion of the population can't see some colors correctly. After you take that into account, make sure that you aren't sending any other unintentional messages.

I want to settle on the design before I start working on the final colours as it gets too confusing. When you say the second one you mean the one with the t running into the pink stripe?
 
I like the second t design, the slanted top of the t doesn't quite match/flow with the running pink stripe.

I will also agree with many of the members that upon first glance, your logo looks like the word fu**uck. Having the t break the pink stripe apart does push it to read as two words "func tuck", but it's long, and I still get the fu**uck feeling. Just my thoughts on this.

As for colors, they are loud, but if that's what you're going for, make sure the "loudness" is similar on all letters, as certain letters are more loud that others, emphasizing those letters.

I'm a bit confused about what is mean by 'second one'. I guess it means the second posted image but I'm not sure if you mean the second one in post #13. Do you mean #13 or do you mean the one with the pink stripe unbroken?

btw as I said in earlier, this is for hand silk screened art t-shirts whose designs will primarily be bawdy, risqué, cheeky, playful and provocative. So yes it is meant to be read as it is being read. I suppose it's a bonus if you think it was accidental. The warm tone letters were meant to associate together and the colder tone letters are a separate anagram.

EDIT: OK three more this evening, same design new colours.

The name is set. What is not set is everything else. There will be a subdivision of 'Functuck' called 'Luvkok' but I'll leave that for another day :) Think 'f.c.u.k.' (french connection uk) as the inspiration.

At the moment I'm not sure about, and would appreciate and value any advice or comments on...

•Whether the stripe should be broken around the 't' or if the 't' should overlay the stripe

•Whether the stripe that comes off the 'k' should be rounded like the 'f' or sharp like post #3

•Colours. Everything so far is just what came to mind, I'm completely flexible to any and all suggestions regarding colour.

•The words that are seen are deliberate and while not being suitable for a childrens toy manufacturer or real estate agent are just right for the intended product.

Whatever this company produces, their product might become x-rated in the US just because of the name ;-) Fu....ck and Love-c.. what the f.ck??

I think that this has been the smartest thing said thusfar. :)

Now, obviously you know the intended use better than I do, but is there any conceivable (or even inconceivable) place where this logo is used in grayscale? Do all the appropriate shades work in grayscale or are they too dark/light to show the difference between the letters?

Will this be on a business card? Do you plan on having the cards done 4-color process, or are you willing to spend to have each of their Pantone equivalents printed?

Nail down the design, the form, in black on white first...then add color. Only add as many colors as it takes; if something can be excluded without affecting the quality of the design, it wasn't needed in the first place.

Doh, why didn't it occur to me to post in b/w. Would have save me much heartache.

It will never be reproduced in shades of grey. It will eventually be printed in 4 colour as well as reproduced in rgb. It's basically an arty sort of business so absolute reproduction of corporate colours will never be necessary. The logo will be distinctive enough to be able to absorb being reproduced in very differenct colour schemes although there will be a theme as to which letters are visually connected via colours.

OK here's all the variations on shape so far. I'm removing all colour variations at the moment.
