Just call microsoft. They'll give you an activation code over the phone.
That's the problem. They don't want because they say it has been installed on too much computers. Worst, it look like it didn't came with the authenticity sheet, so I'm left out.
Maybe not exactly follow all those 23 steps, but you get the idea.
It gives me really headache when building up a windows PC, need to keep asking myself --> update driver / add or remove software / scan / update / restart / install software / restart ...... after done all that, it's time to bed
I feel your pain. My dad bought a brand-new Dell... and paid for all sorts of upgrades. Later, he has to call M$ for something and they tell him the Windows Activation key or Serial or whatever it is that's stuck right on the top of the computerisn't valid. Gotta love it.
