It was the same for the 2013. My technique is to just wait a year and then buy a refurb. Totally worth the wait.

I have always been a glass half full kind of guy, which makes it hard to be a Mac pro fan these days.

On the other hand, my interpretation of the recent rumors is that they intend to both produce and expensive, high-end, modular Macpro, and additionally I expect a much higher performance mini.

I think it the new MacPro will look something like this.

What would be really cool is something like this.

I think if they go the way of "Modular" MacPro it will be the death of the MacPro. With the price tag on MacPro's being historically high, I don't see many people coughing up the money for the one. I would look to see something along the lines of the iMac Pro but in a smaller cylindrical type case. Let's face it the large iMac is a heat management nightmare. The current MacPro has the heat beat so to speak.

$2,499.00 historically high? That was the entry price for the 2008-2012 era Mac Pro.

Love my black 2013 Mac Pro! Fast, portable, a zillion ports, and dead silent. That's what I want in a 2019 Mac Pro.

That is stock with no options. Once you configure out a 2013 MacPro the price quickly rises from the base of 3999 to a little over $7000.00. I don't know about you but I call $7000.00 pretty high for the average user.

I don't think it was meant for "the average user" though. Apple offers several computers for the average user. It's mostly meant for pro's that probably don't think to much about the price. A design firm that I freelance at bought a ton of them to link together for a render farm. They didn't even blink an eye at the price. In this industry Mac is still the standard for a ton of people and they wouldn't even think of switching to a more cost effective PC. If you are making 50-150k per job then 7k isn't so bad if it can speed up your day a little bit.

Well if that firm ever decides to get rid of them at a good price drop a line :)

Ha, I will let them know. They even built their little server room on 12-core models inside the Sonnet xMac racks. Pretty slick!
