You can purchase Snow Leopard and Lion directly from the Apple online store.
http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6106Z/A/os-x-lion

That will get you a redemption code to download Lion through the App Store, which ALSO means that you need Snow Leopard, updated to 10.6.8, which then gives you the App Store.
Get Snow Leopard, too: http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard.

So, unless you have access to another Mac with Snow Leopard or newer, you'll need to install Snow Leopard to get Lion.

Thanks for the input on that!

More RAM issues... if I put the RAM for 8GB it recognizes it just fine, that means I have 2x2GB in DIMM 1 & 2 on both the bottom and top risers.

When I go to put 2 more 2GB sticks in DIMM 3&4 on the top riser as it's said to do, it doesn't recognize anything on the top riser and runs 4GB solely off the bottom riser.

I'm completely confused as far as this goes and have tried just about every option possible.

Any ideas?

After some more testing, it appears that I have a stick of RAM that is DOA.

I have emailed Lifetime Memory Products in search of a replacement. Right now the machine is running well on 8GB RAM and is booting in right around 11 seconds.

I'll update you all on the status of this RAM stick replacement.
