It's about 2:00am PDT and the Apple Store has been down for several hours now. So, it looks like we are finally getting some new Mac hardware. The Mac Pro update looks likely, with both the CPUs from Intel and GPUs from NVidia and AMD launched over the last few months.

It would coincidentally solves the (very minor) problem for Apple of whether or how to respond to the Facebook Campaign for new Mac Pros, which last time I looked had reached over 13,000 signatures. What better than to not respond except by issuing the update which was planned anyway!

MacBook Pros also look likely, allowing WWDC to concentrate on iOS 6 and Mac OS X Mountain Lion without the distraction, from a publicity perspective, of new hardware.

Credit Card is getting warm.

There's nothing new whatsoever, but the original thread is appreciated.

Still down in the UK. A small part of me don't want the Mac Pro's to get updated silently: If they were announced at WWDC then it would certainly dispel some of the sentiment that the Pro's are no longer relevant and on the verge of being discontinued.

back down, 7am EST, 4am PST.

This could actually be it...

Maintenance overnight, then refresh in the morning.

I know they are adding (or have added.....) the NEST learning thermometer to the store but I can't believe this is all just for one device.

I kinda doubt it's anything exciting though, I reckon it's in preparation for the WWDC.

Perhaps it is a Denial of Service attack by angry Mac Pro users desperate for an update, in which case the Apple's store will remain out of action until they release new Mac Pros!

MacRumours and AppleInsider haven't picked up on this yet.

You know someone at Apple gets a good laugh over how Frantically we all hit refresh every time the store goes down.
They Probably did this one just to alleviate the Wednesday blues.

Norway is back up and running smoothly again now, with nothing, zip, zero. What a great day in Apple history... :(
