His advice was good - he probably has a good idea of what's in the pipeline for the next day, and holding your breath that long is fatal ;)

It won't surprise me if they hold out for Ivy Bridge...

There really isn't a major improvement between Sandy & Ivybridge, at least on the desktop side.
I don't know what, if anything. Intel would do to distinguish Ivy on the Xeon side, besides a socket pin change.

Actually, I would think that would = dead, or "they" will consider one of the new imacs good enough to fill the void. They won't wait till 2013 to upgrade an already 2 year old mac.

It wouldn't surprise me if a new Mac Pro is a long way away, Apple is baffling in the fact that they couldn't are less about their customers.

You do realize the real delay was that intel wasn't shipping chips right?

And although chips are released, you still can't get them in bulk from any company, Dell or HP without an end of May tentative ship date.

I have a strange feeling, that because they make most of their money via iOS, the iPhone and iPad. They'll totally stop giving a **** about their computer cusotmers. This is no longer a company run by Steve Jobs, its a company run by a board of Directors who dont give a **** about people, just how they can make the most profit.

Thats the thing, Microsoft is still run by people who actually have worked in the computer industry, and it shows in Windows 7/8 vs OSX,

The board has been there for ages including through the Steve Years. They are entrenched. You know nothing of MS hierarchy and who runs that company. Nerds made way for suits many many years ago. It is now pretty much suits telling India what they think the kids want based on markets Apple creates.
