An employe of apple told me that at the presentation on 26th january a new macbook air will be announced. He told he's 100% sure about that. He sed there will be a bigger capacity ssd , one more usb port , some more new features and refreshed design. :apple:

He also told me the tablet is unlikely to be presented on 26th january. We will have to wait a few more months for it.

1) Friends in high places are seldom whom they are purported to be.
2) New poster with first post containing insider information - uh huh.
3) An event to announce a minor (albeit long-awaited) spec bump to the Air...doubtful.
4) The truth...available after the presentation in January.

I'm consciously drowning out all the doubt in me and believe you to get me even more excited about Jan 26! Please let this be true!

Did your friend mention what processor it will be? Arrandale? Speed? Or any other details?

HAHA, one more USB ~ I don't think so:D:D:D

if Apple want to upgrade the USB port ~ It should be one USB 3.0 ~ I guess:p:p:p

This poster is telling the truth. I heard this as well from a friend of a friend whose sisters boyfriends brother said they heard from an Apple store employee that a new air will be released on January 26th. This is confirmed information and not speculation in any way.

1) Apple is known to give out specific info to employees (contractors) to find leaks to rumor sites/the Media.
2) Apple is a huge global corporation with lots of departments and not everyone in Apple knows what Apple will be doing a month or so out.
3) This is the first hint anywhere on any rumor site of an updated MacBook Air. Tablet rumors are flying fast and furious however.
4) A dedicated special even to update an existing product right after the holidays outside of normal existing product refresh schedules? Really?
5) Conflicting rumors will lead to Tablet wasn't released, stock price crashes due to failed (made up) expectations and an otherwise nice product refresh will be buried, sales dip, dogs & cats start living together, it's all G. W. Bush's fault.

I agree to this. I have had "inside" information in the past that was accurate about some things here and there... BUT NEVER ACCURATE about when or what new products will include unless just days before the event. Certainly never a month in advance. I would say Steve himself probably doesn't know 100% sure what he will "allow" to be released that day. I have heard that he will axe an update even after they go to production and before release if something isn't exactly as he thinks it should be.

I really hope there is a January announcement, and I also have heard that the next MBA will be a new design with something revolutionary and not available on any current Mac notebook. What that is? I have no clue. I hope it's an OLED display that has 3D capabilities or something but I don't think anyone's quite sure except the man himself and a few who assemble final parts together.

Some people are thinking we might get a touch panel instead of a keyboard as the tablet rumors seem to think. I just hope it's not an MBA that has a ULV CPU. A lower powered MBA is worthless to me... I just hope Apple feels the same.

I also expect a price increase for a higher end MBA with more SSD drive space, RAM, and better specs. But most is hope not actual knowledge of anything.

i dont see why so sceptic

i just posted what the guy said. thats all. and on 26th well see if he was right or wrong. i am not saying it is going to happen 100% he said it i am just posting it.

this is my first post because i have a peace of information worth posting. i have had good information from this person before but it has already been on this website and i do not see no use of posting the same thing aegean and aegean.

to be clear He was 100% sure that a new macbook air is coming on 26th january. He said the most likely changes from the current model it would have are bigger capacity ssd , one more usb port , some more new features and refreshed design. HE HAS NOT SEEN IT HIM SELF. :apple:

Well, if your "Apple" employee is a salesperson I will take that piece of information a lot different than if your "Apple" employee is a Vice-President of Mobile Computers.

The problem is people post this kind of stuff on here all of the time about what a sales person working in a retail store who makes $12 per hour knows about a product coming out in a month, and those are ALWAYS incorrect.

Unless your employee is "up" the ladder or their position is very specific to the MBA itself, I doubt the info is accurate.

What I really hope is YOU are an employee that is "up" the ladder and you're sharing some cool insights with us. That seems to happen on occasion. Let's say that's the actual scenario here. PLEASE SHARE MORE!!!

What also happens is false reports that Apple is trying to test its "leak" origin problems. Let's hope that's not the situation...

Finally, you're right we will find out on the 26th how credible this post was, but 99% of the time they're completely inaccurate. Not saying that is definitely the case, but it's usually the case. Like I said before, I hope you're informer is correct.

Let's see how many other things you might be able to find the info about... if you can get your source to reveal...

I also heard that we will be getting a new form factor and something really special that's not available on any other Mac notebook right now... any chance you know what that might be?

How about the CPU, is it going to be Penryn or Arrandale? If Arrandale, does it have an integrated chipset or is it something else? If Arrandale, does it have a dedicated graphics card? Is it likely to have a ULV or CULV CPU with less power than current MBAs? If Penryn, will we get the 9400m AGAIN? Or will it be the 200M or something else?

What about the bezel? Will it have the glossy shiny bezel of hell? Or will it keep the same nice al. bezel? A glass cover? Is that too heavy? How about 16:10 or 16:9?

How about RAM? Does it have 4 GB or two RAM slots? What about the display, is it a different tech like OLED? How about the SSD? Any news if it's going to still be a 1.8" drive? How about the LIF connector? Will that change?

So, two USB ports? Any other ports like an SD Card? Will it be aluminum? Black aluminum? Plastic? Will the keyboard be a tactile display like is rumored for the tablet? Will it have a glass trackpad?

Will it be thinner? A smaller screen size? A smaller footprint? How about the price? More? Less? Any BTO options? New iLife and iWork 10 with it? Will it be true 64-bit? Or will it stick with Apple's FOS 32-bit OS X kernel?

Maybe you could ask some of these questions if you still have access from your source? This could provide some seriously valuable information for all considering the next MBA as a big financial decision/purchase.

Also, if you're an insider leaking, THANK YOU!
