Depends what kind of user you are I would argue.

Yeah, very flat and not comfortable. I often press hard on keyboard, but with the butterfly it is a lot louder. Personally I like the sound and sometimes feel but it can be frustrating for others. Also it's inconstancy is annoying. Because it's much more mechanical (not in the sense of a mechanical keyboard, but more machine-like), I feel it's not as welcoming to type. I like the magic keyboard due to the higher travel and extreme constancy, as well as quieter sound, but that wouldn't be possible to implement in the current MB designs.I use a 15" rMBP w/ Touch Bar at work.
Butterfly 2 is a bit firmer but doesn't really help with the flatness of the key. I still have to pretend to hit them pretty hard to have any semblance of feedback, and at that point, Butterfly 2 is actually even louder than the Butterfly 1 keyboard. Both of which still cannot beat the key travel and feedback of the Apple wireless keyboard (I use this at home because it takes up less space), which is still a far cry from a mechanical keyboard (use this at work because mechanical keyboard master race!).
Both of the Butterfly keyboards I simply hate, so unless I'm forced to use either one when I'm on the go, I just use an external keyboard instead. I'd call them "buttery keyboard" instead of "butterfly." I know some sacrifices have to be made to make the laptops thinner but seriously, the keyboards are just so bad now.
I believe there are hardware limitations preventing them, one of them being support on Y-series processors. That's also why we're stuck with gen 1 speeds. I wouldn't mind that if they could find a way to get a second port on there. If you're gonna leave it with one port after 2 years, at least put Thunderbolt 3 in that USB-C port
smaller, lighter more portable obviously.Wait...the Macbook Pro and the Macbook both start at $1299? What am I missing here? What's the appeal of the Macbook if the prices are identical?
And double the storage.smaller, lighter more portable obviously.
8GB is enough as long as u don't use windows in a VM. But with bootcamp it's fineCan anyone give me some advice please? I can't decide between an i5 with 8gb Ram or one with 16Gb. All I'll be using it for is, web, music, film and photos. I don't mind paying the extra for the Ram but only if I'm going to make use of it. I also intend to bootcamp windows 10 (to use for work). An
Been holding off on getting a MB until it had better specs and was wondering as far as getting the best bang for your buck is it better to upgrade from i5 to i7 or 8 to 16GB RAM, if you can only choose one?
50% they saidAnyone know what the new SSD being used is? What speed increase/
Thanks.. If anyone has any numbers please share on Read Write numbers50% they said
The new MacBook delivers up to 20 percent faster performance with new seventh‑generation Intel Core m3, i5, and i7 processors,1 and up to 50 percent faster SSD storage.Thanks.. If anyone has any numbers please share on Read Write numbers
That's all. Nothing to see in tech specs either. Think we have to wait for some tests
Apple's estimates are usually pretty close to real-life performance.are these benchmark tests are running the processor for longer time or do they use the boost and make things look better than they are in real life?
well they say: "MacBook continuously monitors system thermal and power conditions, and may adjust performance as needed to maintain optimal system operation."are these benchmark tests are running the processor for longer time or do they use the boost and make things look better than they are in real life?
