Completely agree. The fact they just left the new iPad Air with the old Magic Keyboard without any function keys, and are still charging £300 for it, is a shocker. Clearly just using up old stock while charging full price as an accessory for a new iPad model, so very financially savvy, but the user gets a bum deal. Even the base iPad comes with a function row.
I really hate Cook's Apple sometimes
If you are talking about the single USB-C port that is part of the keyboard, its main purpose is to charge the iPad. I haven’t tried to use it for any external display so, I can’t comment on that aspect.ok, so I have been using the keyboard since launch and had no idea it had a USB port, what is that for? External display, or will it charge the iPad if you go through that?

Its for charging only unfortunately, would have been nice if it would have full USB C functionality (charging, data transfer and video). At least it does allow one to use the main USB C port on the iPP for plugging into external display etc, whilst the device is charging at same time though.ok, so I have been using the keyboard since launch and had no idea it had a USB port, what is that for? There is a reason: profitThis should work with the new Air M2. There's no reason it shouldn't. They won't redesign the Air M3, so NO reason for it to not work with the current model.
Second that! I bought mine on eBay -- open-box for $179.As incredible the iPad Magic Keyboard is, it's way overpriced. Got mine on a second hand website but it was brand new and I only paid 200€ for it. I would've never bought it full price.

But Apple has used the first Magic Keyboard for several iterations. So it’s not that bad.
Actually it DOES work with the M2 Air. You have to dig around a bit on Apple's website, but it's there. This should work with the new Air M2. There's no reason it shouldn't. They won't redesign the Air M3, so NO reason for it to not work with the current model.
