New MAJOR i7 Issue.

Ok SO, I got my i7 and I did all the tests. After not having any flickering, no yellow tinge and no loud hard drive, I almost gave up and declared my Imac perfect. After a week or so of waiting for a chance to complain, I was about to announce that the war was lost. Just then, I noticed something unacceptable in a 2000$+ machine.

There is dust on my screen!

What gives? This is major flaw. Obviously, when I pay 2000$+ for a machine I want it to be dust proof. It's obviously broken. These i7s have so many issues I can't believe it. I don't think I'll ever buy apple ever again. This spec of dust on my screen makes me want to vomit.

Anyone else on here having this problem?? I read somewhere that something like 789 out every 793 Imac owner are reporting this newly developed, major issue.

Personally, I'd rather get thrown into an industrial sized garbage compactor than have to stare at a dusty 2000$+ computer.

You think Apple will send me a new one?
 
If you are unable to remove the dust, then I would complain, you shouldn't have dust under your screen, whether they will or not I don't know, but they should.

Apple can probably take care of this. They have a silicone roller that they roll over the screen to remove the dust. Schedule an appointment and they (probably) will gladly fix it.

Since no one other than Apple would even have access to that kind of of statistic, don't trust your "sources".

Well, you see, ummm I don't know - BUT I DON'T THINK SO!

AND

Your statistics are wrong - it's now 799 out of 793 Imac owners have some sort of problem.

BTW - I don't have one - an i7 iMac that is :)
 
Aren't you getting a little overdramtic over something so small?It's just a spec of dust under the screen, it happened during manufacturing, if it bothers you, exchange it. Drop the "I paid over $2000" stuff, most of us pay about that much for a Mac. I understand your frustration but don't get so worked up over it. Its not "broken", its just dust. Get another iMac and move on.
 
I find it very amusing that nobody can see how much sarcasm is seeping from this post.

Do you guys realize he's making fun of how completely anal people are on this site and how they look for the smallest things to nitpick over? The fact that people are believing the post was genuine is proof that it's not uncommon for people on MacRumours to have unrealistic expectations and be completely stubborn therefore never being happy even if they get a perfectly acceptable machine.

Just uh... putting that out there.

Oh, and he said that there is dust ON the iMac, not under the screen... that's the joke....:rolleyes:
 
there are many imac owners out there including me that would happily switch for ur imac over our yellowed screen imacs, stop complaining

Damn, you're good!! I kept reading the OP over and over and it just didn't make sense for someone to say they would want to vomit over a dust on the screen. Okay, well it's late night where I am, I didn't catch the sarcasm. :D

Yes guys, I did notice you got the joke, haha. I was speaking generally, as most of the posts were completely oblivious to it.

If there is any truth to this it's very easy to access the inside of the glass and wipe.
 
By the way, next time you say "MAJOR" issue, it should actually be something very bad that's getting in your way of doing something.

Dust sucks, but that's fixable. And usually a MAJOR issue is something a large group of people have.
You seem to be the only one I've seen so far.

Stop looking for problems, OP. This way you will never enjoy anything

I'd say that a large group of people have this dust issue. I'd say 100% of iMac owners have this problem.

You see, when you don't actually read the thread, you miss the fact that he's making a joke.

OP, perhaps it's time to change the thread title to reflect you attempt at humor.....
 
pfft, just use the suction cups, pull the glass and Air dust the sucker, no reason to get a bent out of shape,

yes, it is a 2000+ machine and Apple could have done a better, job. You could have also ended up with a yellow tinged, dead pixels, noisy hard drive unit.:rolleyes:
 
OMG, I just checked and I have it too. My 6 weeks of happiness with my i5 are over.

Maybe we should start a poll.
 
no he is not the only one someone had dust before in shape of a hand on the inside of the glass , i think that was early december posted here , so it is a major issue ..2 people with dusty screens ,on the other hand dust is good as a anti glare solution :D
 
This thread proves without a shred of doubt that at least half the people who respond to posts don't bother with more than a cursory glance at the previous posts.

The sarcasm in the original post is pretty obvious. He never said there was dust under the glass for one thing. Interesting that some folks read that in. My personal favorite, though, were the ones who still posted telling him how to fix it and confirming it is an issue after the fact that it was sarcasm was openly discussed.

789 out of every 793 MacRumors contributors posts now and reads later.
