That royally sucks! I sold my GF basically same spec'd Air as yours with the exception of 4GB RAM and it had applecare which I purchased for nearly as much as I paid for it. Bought it for around $2000 and sold it for $1850 including the external superdrive, which was still sealed. Granted I did this about 2 weeks ago in anticipation of the new Air.

I paid $1310.. basically $400 loss.....
i mean I kinda feel bad but it was a 24hr auction... Maybe if I did this a week ago i would have put up a 5 day..

Oh well, the money part isn't that big of a concern its actually the fact that I'm going to be laptop less for awhile...

Any idea what the price maybe on a MAXed out MBA 13"?
Like maybe i7 if they have it.. if not i5.

I use my MBA as a primary laptop and honestly after spending 10 years of my life using windows pcs and never had touched a mac, I'm in love with them :)

Hmm .. why do you want a new Macbook Air? MBA is supposed to be a second computer. No need to be really fast and powerful.

Upgrading macbook air again and again on every refresh ain't a wise decision. Considering that's not supposed to be so powerful, a little bump on performance doesn't worth the upgrade money IMO

Maybe people don't want a fat computer like the MBP. This is clearly my opinion.

Well I've been using desktops since forever, about a year ago I started using laptops.

This was my laptop before my MBA...
Honestly the speed overall is aLOT better, its more easier to use, amazing features like the muli gestures.

IMO
MBA> other laptops .. and my other laptop was a i3 with 4GB ram i believe..
I just compared the performance a while ago.. turn the laptop on fir the first time in months. Slow, screen is do dull and I can go on and on.
That laptop is sent for a manufacture replacement and will be sold as soon as I get it back :p

Where does it say anywhere that it is supposed to be a "second computer"? Is it on the box somewhere? I must have missed it o_O

There are countless threads, including one going on right mow about how it is more than functional as a FIRST (and only) computer.

Whoa .. chill out .. no one saying MBA is bad .. and if you said so, the box or manual didn't write MBA to be the one and only computer as well. In fact Apple would like you to buy more than one of their computer :p

I owned MBA, and for me personally it's sleek, cool, fast, but just don't have enough power to do CPU intensive tasking. And I ended up only use it for browsing, some music listening, chat and photo viewing

That's why IMO MBA is a second computer.

Not to brag.. okay this is bragging haha. Just sold my maxed out MBA for $1481 in Taiwan (no stupid Ebay fees here, everyone meets in person). Paid $1680 for it (Mac Mall), so a $200 loss for 7 months of use. Gotta love Apple!
