did you get a 14 in the end ? im curious
Technically yes, but also no :) Back in 2021 I ended up with a 14" M1 and I loved it. Eventually yearned for a larger screen.. plus my 14" was experiencing the incredibly annoying and apparently unsolvable speaker-popping issue, so I traded it in during the edu sale last year for a 16" M3. I don't really notice the typing discomfort, but I'm still excited for these to get thinner/lighter with OLED next year. I do appreciate the extra screen real estate on the 16", and wouldn't switch if I was given the option right now, but do sometimes miss how compact the 14" was.

So in terms of writs pain and ergonomics, you don't suffer from the 16" more ?

I had to return mine and get a MBA m1 instead , the pain was just too much

Sadly the redesign and oled are set to M6 in 2026 , so there's a lot of time before that

I remember the edge of my old 16" M1 Max cutting into my wrists when typing. Never had that issue with MBP 13, MBA, nor MBP 14.

I really wish all laptops would have a wedge design for this reason, but it seems Apple doesn’t want to do that even for the Air’s, let alone the pros.
