I finally got my Note 3 after waiting for a week and 1/2 . So far I'm loving the size and how fast the OS is compared to my older GS3 phone. I made a smart decision and I'm very happy with it. Thanks again! :0

Congrats. Don't forget there is a root now for KitKat so don't be afraid to upgrade if you didn't get the latest OS. It's an amazing phone and I can't wait for the Note 4 to drop, I'll be first in line.

Except it permanently voids your warranty and stops you from getting OTAs ever again.

Leave the phone vanilla if you want to be supported by Samsung in anyway (even if their official support is crap).

That's not accurate. You can unroot at any time. This root does not trigger Knox so there is no way for Samsung to know you have been rooted once you unroot.

It used to get 4-5 hours of screen time prior to Kitkat. Now it gets like 3-4 max. It's also a bit if a lagfest.

Crappy Touchwiz. You'll most definitely have to use a custom ROM.

Have you tried a different launcher like Nova? Sometimes it helps.....

Lag has been inconsistent with mine, sometimes it flies and other times there is a tiny bit of lag. The worst offender is opening the phone app and going thru the tabs, that is pretty annoying. I don't find the lag much worse if any than any other Android phone I've used though, including the Nexus 5. I think it's just Android.

The inconsistency of the operating system and battery life with Touchwiz/Samsung is infuriating.

My biggest gripe about the phone. Counting down the days when my NEXT upgrade is ready in September.

May try a sleeker, non-obtrusive operating system like WP or even, aghast...back to Apple!

I'm totally loving my note 3. Now I'm wishing the note 4 will have a bigger screen!

I just ended up flashing the stock 4.3 ROM via Odin. Much more stable, extremely fast and great battery life (around ~7hrs screen time). Not as smooth as my iPhone but let's see if Android L helps with that.

Oh yes a case. Buy a nice one. Makes it significantly less ugly.
