Seeing it next to an ipad and a mac mini really does put it perspective... made my heart sink a little actually. Is this machine really going to have the headroom that users are looking for?

I have to say, if it was available in both black or gray like in this picture, I would not pick black!

Looks kinda nice like that :)

Hell yeah!!!! The new Mac Pro is going to be the most powerful Mac ever. Actually I think it will be the most powerful home super computer ever mass produced. It will cost a lot of money but if maximum performance is your game then the Mac Pro will be the only worthwhile choice on the market.

I really want to find out the actual cost of this machine. $2999 for base model would be nice, one can hope.

You're wishing for $2999?

I'm wishing for $1299 like the old Power Mac G4s. I freely admit that that's extremely unlikely but I'd rather wish for that than $3k!

No, sorry. Dell, hp, lenovo will leave it in the dust with factor 2 :/

Looking forward to 10.9 tho, just ordered 2 e5-2690 for a total of 1500 $ / 1139€. Hackintosh / Dual boot biz it is for me.

Well it's a more realistic wish for such a machine, haha. $2999 for base model would be okay, especially since it is going to be assembled in the United States.

I don't care if you're not being sarcastic. This was hilarious.

According to everymac, the Power Mac G4s had a minimum price of $1599, which, adjusted for inflation, is around $2200. Not far off the current entry level price.

How did you pull that off?

Engineering samples from hongkong, 60 days Return, friend orders from there for years and sticks them into workstations (that are refurbished with 3 years warranty and next-day pickup service).
Inb4 you are not allowed to buy ES, that they are still intel's and they dont work yaddayadda

How cute!

Ah! Pictures of the two Mac Minis side by side. The normal Mac Mini on the right, and the Mac Mini with faster CPU and GPU on the left.

My cat can't sleep on that!

Looks sweet but I fear it will be out of my price range :(

You say that as if the Pro isn't a powerhouse. :roll eyes:

Note I didn't say anything about expandability, blah blah, external blah. The machine is a beast, there is no denying that.

It bet it still can't grate my Applewood Smoked cheese of an evening though, can it?

I'm sticking with my 1,1.

After examining that photo, doing some advanced calculus and measure - it appears that if one was to take a mechanical pencil and run an outline of the Mac Mini shown in the photo, it IS possible to put a round peg into a square hole.

I am sold on the new Mac Mini Pro.

I have a cat that almost always comes and sits down on this same spot when I use my Mac.
I never have to brush that cat.
The routine is just to remove some cat hair from the perforated cover every time I log out.

Anyway, I think I like the new Mac Pro computer.
All the technical terms around a computer are not my strongest side.
I know a bit more about the material the machine supposedly is made of.
If it is correct that the house is machined out of a compact piece of an aluminum alloy, I can just say that this matter alone will make the new Mac Pro very exclusive and expensive.
Since the new MP does not have storage space for our files, I hope it will be offered hard drives that matches the design of the new machine.

Keep telling yourself that.

Several users have upgraded their existing Mac Pros to beyond the speed that is capable in the new machine. Where is your "most powerful Mac ever" now?
