They'd have to redesign the Sport band if that's to happen, as you currently can't get the pin out without destroying it.
Yeah I know, I was merely hypothesising. I was thinking they could do this if they slightly redesign the Sport bands, possibly with the next version of the Apple Watch in the next year or two.

I love how big the AW looks in photos but doesn't look nearly as big on your wrist in person. Some kind of illusion.

That's actually not a bad idea, as long as they find a way to make it sturdy enough. The last thing Apple wants is customers dropping their watches as a result of improperly securing it, as they'd just blame Apple instead of themselves.

Also picked up the Midnight Blue but i found it to be too dark to be distinguishably different from the black one. Really happy with this combo.

oh is that right! if that's the case when I get mine, i'll be returning it....

The SS Red Band original picture I shared above was taken outside in bright sunlight so you can see what it looks like in bright light.

1st picture is with my OEM Apple iPad Mini red cover - ver similar in color. 2nd picture is with my Red Wings jersey which is a primary red color. 3rd picture is indoors under fluorescent lighting at Costco. 4th picture is the watch on top of a Coca-Cola can pack wrapper.

The red band color is not a primary red or "fire truck red" color - Sir Ive would not let that happen. It is basically a primary red slightly skewed towards the orange side of the color spectrum.

I don't know if I will keep mine or not. Just not the Red I wanted. I agree to much to the orange side. The Coke Red or slightly darker would have been PERFECT IMHO.

I initially felt the same and was ready to box it up immediately for a return but I took it out today so I could see it under different lights and now like it very much. It looks almost black in subdued lighting but in daylight and brighter lights it is a really classy shade of blue and sometimes almost purple.

On the downside I also received the product red strap but it had to be returned. Would have kept it but the strap had a mark on it that could not be removed.....I think, after seeing it, I prefer the orange anyway so I'll pick one of those up instead.

Hubby is picking up a band for me today and can't wait to see it tonight when he comes home from work. I have the SS Apple Watch with white band right now. My first choice was the Red, then the Midnight Blue, then Stone (kind of prefer the cooler color hue for a brown range instead of the Walnut or Antique White). He called from the store and said both Red and Midnight Blue were sold out in the S/M-M/L size so my second sport band will be the Stone. I'll come back and post photos later.

Thanks for the Red and Midnight Blue band photos BTW. Nice comparisons on the red with other red items we typically see. I like the Midnight Blue. Appears to be a dark navy in lower light but definitely shows up and not black in that one daylight photo. Thinking it will work with many of my navy blue clothing items.

I am looking forward to going into a store myself and seeing the band colors in person. Thinking about the Vintage Rose too but just not sure. It looks more subtle than a bubble gum color but sometimes hard to judge on a computer screen. Has anyone bought that band color yet and can post photo with some of your clothing/accessories in the photo to see how it pairs with things?

I will anxiously wait for your stone band pics. Seems I can't find any of them anywhere and I am interested in a grayish/brown color scale and how this looks.

It's night here now and so can't grab a photo yet in natural daylight. I did take this one tonight however. The lighting above was from a warm white Cree LED flood light so take that into consideration.

The second hand on the watch face (Watch OS 1.0.1) is a silver gray color so the band is definitely a cool brown/gray. SS Apple Watch, 42mm btw. I'm looking forward to seeing it tomorrow in daylight and will come back and add some photos. I like so far. I love the feel of these sport bands. Can't wait for WatchOS2 to get the Stone second hand.

Also took this photo, same lighting, showing the top band in Stone with the bottom band in White to show the color comparison.

More photos: These were taken in the a.m. It's really a taupe color and the shading can change with lighting.
