yup that's what I usually do.
Just remember to buy a M-KEY NVME enclosure and not a B-KEY enclosure

Are there any steps you recommend I take in order to do the clone correctly or is it pretty straightforward?

and by doing this the computer should boot normally or must I do something else? I saw a video somewhere about a NVRAM reset after installing the contents to a previously blank hard drive

curious on how this resolved?
Ive got a MBP early 2015 and want to upgrade ssd too, thinking of Crucial P1 but can't be sure after reading this!!
