I went out to the grocery store and bought some fruit and sprite bottle, and setup my lights and fired away

Hi Matthew,
Just a couple of comments- The Sprite bottle is good, but the OOF area and the line of drops at the top bother me a bit. The line naturally leads the eye right over to the OOF area where there's nothing to resolve. If you crop the image about square, then you have the large drops near the center, and a diagonal line of them moving off to the upper right, where it dwindles, but isn't out of focus- I like that composition more, though if the DoF was deeper, the original composition might work a little better.
With the groups strawberries, I think having something nearer the foreground OOF would help give the eye a bit more interest, and the images a bit more depth. Most Western folks read left-to-right, and in this case, the focal point of the image is over on the right at the "end" and if we try to go back to the beginning, we're left with something that doesn't resolve. It may simply be that flipping the image "fixes" the composition though.
The lighting is great, and overall the images are nice, those are just the things I'd do to improve them.
