You need to SSH the files into your temp folder on your iPhone and depack them. If you don't know how to do it, the updates should be available on cydia soon.
It is not on cydia yet. The link I gave is for downloading the files onto your desktop computer.

Any instructions would be appreciated.

Thanks

it does work... confirmed

installed the debs manually and they work flawlessly. even installed the recent winterboard settings and that works nicely too

can someone provide detailed instructions please? I got the latest file for winterboard of the site. Can I use fileaid to transfer the file over to the iphone? How do I depack afterwards?

Got this off Internet

This worked for me. After running this and restart, checked Cydia, new version installed !!

HOW TO INSTALL :
SSH into iPhone – using iPhoneTunnel if your on Windows , Cyberduck if your on MacOS. Read here how to use iPhoneTunnel

Copy . deb file into tmp folder

Quit Cydia if its running

Hit Ctrl+T in WinSCP and run the following command : dpkg -i /tmp/name.deb ( just to make sure : you replace name.deb with the actual name of the deb file ) On CyberDuck there is a "Send Command" window in "go" menu.

After installation, you can delete the .deb file

This just ruined my iphone. Im stuck in safe mode.

How can I uninstall WB through SSH?

If it's in safe mode, can you run Cydia ?

If so, go to Manage/packages/Winderboard and try to remove it.

Restart, then try to install current version on Cydia with Cydia.

Good luck.

Unfortunately, Cydia is hidden inside a categories folder.

Categories doesn't work in safe mode. Any way to SSH and bring Cydia out of categories?

I can confirm that this worked for me...I rebooted the phone and now am enjoying WinterBoard.

This is great news for sure, but this will probably be available through Cydia instead of having to SSH into the phone? can you use iphone browser?

Cydia is a critical app. I would NEVER put it in a folder !

You could try deleting Winterboard from the apps folder via SSH, but, I have never tried that. Don't know all the implications, if any.

If you can, download SBSettings.

Open it, go to More, go to Hide Icons, turn Cydia On and it should be out of the folder.

Thanks for the help everyone! Winterboard installed fine, but I don't see MobileSubstrate anywhere in my Cydia packages. Isn't it supposed to appear there as well?
