Ya, except for the fact that it now kills music playing when you run the app.

I agree, this is a major disappointment. I can't believe they would do something like that. I use an FM Transmitter, so as it stands right now I can't listen to my music or my car radio when using this app.

this is why

I haven't sold my GPS TomTom system and will most likely keep it it would opnly make sense to use the iphone if I could mutitask with it! ;) might use it in a pinch and google maps is ok for that!

i dont know whether you folks JB your phones or not but that is the main reason why i jailbroke. i run this app along with slacker/pandora.

A very disappointing update. Many of us were expecting more.

My post, June 21:

"Looks great and has all the features the current version is missing, IMO.

G-Map U.S. iPhone Voice Guidance Preview

Seems like they've had this together for some time. Makes you wonder what the delay could be."

Would be nice if Xroad communicated a bit. I have no sympathy or loyalty to companies that handle their business in this way.

XRoad speaks!

I asked XRoad's PR rep Sean why we didn't get the Tap Critic video version and what in the world was going on. Here's his reply:

"The new buyers of Gmap will have to pay now $34.99 and the price will go up more. So previously owners have such an advantage of getting Free updates of new features. It is a matter of time. iPhone users will get all the necessary features soon. So please ask them be patient more and enjoy the good features currently available. Thanks."

Of course. Now it makes sense...

I'm thinking about developing a new app called "iPoint-Finder" to help figure out the exact meaning of that email.

They led TapCritic (and ultimately us) to believe that we should purchase soon, to take advantage of the pricing. Meanwhile.. those that took the bait are left with nearly what 1.3 users had, minus iPod integration, from this update.

"The new buyers of Gmap will have to pay now $34.99 and the price will go up more..."

Whatever.
