Whilst we realize V1.0 doesn't contain every possible competitive feature we wanted to make sure that what 1.0 did do, it did well. V1.1 is coming soon!!!!

Great app. Quick and functional although I'd like to see more layers available for the map. Particularly like the Landscape mode !!!!!

Feature request....allow the user to select where the default app start up location is (like current location) as opposed to always defaulting to Norfolk

Select the "home" button at the top and when the list of locations appears touch the ">" and use "set as Home". The app will now start with this new Home location. You can also set home to be "use current location" so the app always uses the gps location at startup.

Hope that helps.

Another tip; when using the GPS location tap the blue dot to turn on/off the compass direction to work out what direction weather may be heading.

Excellent....thanks....I tried all sorts of things but didn't hit on the right combination. Works great.

Haven't found a weather app yet that will display an animated lighting map. Any chance you will be adding that in the future? My-Cast offered this on their mobile phone editions. This is one of the great puzzles I have found with all of the weather apps on the iphone - no lightning data. When monitoring severe weather data this is critical information to have at your disposal. I live in an area where rain is frequent and generally ignored - lighting though, is never ignored.

The problem with lightning data are the data costs and distribtion limitations the data license requires. That being said it's possible that future versions may have in-app purchasing for premium data and services of which lightning may be one of them.

Thanks for a great suggestion.

Thanks for the reply. That makes sense and explains why I don't see it in other weather apps. Not sure about others, but I would be willing to pay additional fees to get lightning information.

Oddly enough, I get lighting information from an app I have on Android (I have a Nexus 1 also) named iMap - their implementation though is not very good.

Tip of the day

You can scroll horizontally the Weather Panel at the bottom of the maps page for more forecast days.

Feedback???

Hey Guys

With 744 viewings i'm guessing a percentage of you have downloaded the app.

I'd be interested in your feedback!

Thanks.

WSI.

Nice App

I really like this app! I have tried them all, and mainly use TWC for forecast, and was using MyWeather Mobile for radar, but I didn't like how long it took me to get to the radar in MyWeather, and how long it took me to see it (many clicks, slow to load).

This app starts out right where I want it, and the radar works very well.

One suggestion: Please add the ability for the user to define how zoomed in/zoomed out the radar is. I like to go back and forth between a zoomed out view to see the big picture, and then a zoomed in look at my specific and surrounding neighborhoods. Every time you come into the app, you need to start from the same place and zoom as you want. If you could allow the user to define a couple of points to save and then switch quickly between them, that would be tremendous!

Keep up the great work!!

A very nice app...I'm using it more and more to get radar info as compared to the TWC app I used to use.

Suggestions:

1. Allow the radar in motion display speed to be selected by the user and/or allow single stepping through the radar sequence....in my opinion it's too fast right now.

2. For the 10 day forecasts, put the month/date on the pictogram...once I'm 7 or 8 days out it's nice to know that "Tue" is 5/11

Glad you guys are liking it.

We certainly intend to provide more control over the play back and speed of the imagery. We'll likely add dwell and a number of other controls.

Regarding no.2 I presume you're referring to the 10 day forecast in the Weather Panel on the Maps page? The 10-Day forecast page does show the month/date.

Yes...I was talking about the bottom panel you see in portrait mode on the maps page...I rarely even go to the 10 day forecast page since a condensed version is right there on the maps page with a quick swipe.

Glad you're finding the scrolling web panel at the bottom useful.

Did you know that in the 10 day forecast page, tapping a day will pop-up a more detailed forecast?

If you integrate that feature into the scrolling web panel, it would be one less reason to need the 10 day forecast page :)

Second That

Yes, I second that. If you could tap on the scrollable panel to get the specifics about that day, that would be awesome!
