How rootable are these usually? Tempted to import one if there will be any ROMs floating around for it.

They didn't require an unlocked bootloader but that may have changed. Not sure.
This is a guide on how to root a Mi Mix 2, I'm not sure what the benefits of rooting are. I tweeked (jailbreaked) my iPhone 10 years ago to get it to work with carrier. A bit of a pain TBH

Decent price if you can forgive the front camera looking up your nose!
As an OG Mi Mix owner, this was compromised way too much... headphone jack gone, much smaller screen, way smaller battery, leading to thicker edge bezels.
They turned it something with less allure compared to the original groundbreaker by chopping it down.
If you can forgive the mediocre camera and software (seriously benefits from unlocking the BL and going Lineage) it’s worth considering.
Essential Phone and OnePlus 5T (?) are similar around this price, though.
