Mine suddenly started working again. Probably a parsing error with one of the articles

News App on my Air 2 crashes upon opening no matter what, even after a hard restart. Oh well. I guess I will need to wait until the next update. I wonder if it is because I added too many categories the first time I used it?

I searched for a more recent thread on NEWS but didn't see one. When I open the app, I can see each of the Favorites I have selected. However when I select one, it spins for a short time then the app crashes. Same thing ifI select the "For You" section. I am using an iPhone 6. Looking forward to using News at some point.

I also had issues on my iPhone 6 with the "For You" section crashing the app instantly, but the other sections worked fine. I was able to fix the issue, by turning off "News" in my iCloud settings, deleting the data from the phone when prompted, and finally turning the "News" toggle switch back on in iCloud settings. After doing this, it properly updated the "For You" feed and stopped crashing the app. Your mileage may vary, but it worked for me.

In my experience, the performance of the News app can vary quite a bit. I assume they are making frequent updates on the back-end of the system. When the News app first came out, it would only update the articles once every few days, now it updates them throughout the day and crashes a lot less often.

I've noticed several publications (CNN, ESPN, NYT, Reuters, Bloomberg, Vox, Atlantic, Slate, Quartz, Buzzfeed) have started using their own custom Apple News Formats with some looking significantly better than others. Others, such as NPR, Fox News or MSNBC, still operate as RSS readers where you just get the headline and then pull up to be taken to the website. Finally, there are a few publications that are no longer posting new articles, WSJ and Guardian are two. It could be they intentionally disabled it or that they are preparing their own custom format.

I'm on iOS9 Public Beta and all of sudden News is crashing immediately on both iPhone 6 and iPad Mini.

Just throwing this out there...
