Yep seeing ads in mine now. I am in the U.S., running 13.2 beta. Not a News+ subscriber. This is bull crap.

I’m in the UK. And I’ve just gone into the News app and lo and behold adverts. Won’t be using the app again. I don’t know what the frig Apple are playing at but they can shove it up their arse!

Edit: And now they’ve disappeared again. I really don’t understand this.

I'm not using Apple's News app but I can really recommend alternatives with no ads in them, although in the case of Newsify it's an in-app purchase to remove them (other then the feeds you select which might have ads on the sites).
- Heartfeed (free no ads, 2.99 dollar once to have unlimited feeds)
- Feedly (free no ads, optional subscription to get extra features)
- Newsify (free with ads but pay once 2.99 to remove ads, no subscription needed since optional)
- TechPort (free, with ads but pay once 1.99 to remove ads)

Strange, I've been using the app daily since the beginning of this year and have never seen a single ad till a few weeks ago (after updating to iOS 13). It's now littered with huge ads - much worse than other news apps for me.

Anyhow, I've stopped using Apple News. I switched to SmartNews and so far I'm liking it a lot. The ads are few and tiny/unobtrusive. Also, double-clicking the articles takes me to their "smart" view which displays no in-article ads.

I don't ever recall seeing ads in Apple News App but in the last month or so I've noticed ads. And I don't mean ads in articles, those I expect, but rather in the main News App body, between headlines - see pic.

When did Apple start putting ads in here? One of the main reasons I always prefer Apple to others was that I've never been served ads. This is very disappointing.

EDIT: As of some time in May 2020, I no longer see ads in the main window of the News app. Apple must have realized how idiotic that was.
I saw ads in it today. On the home page... I’m not paying for any service that includes Ads. Sorry... no Hulu Plus... I unsubscribed from Apple News.
