News App taking up 0.5GB of storage?!

Is anyone else having this issue? At its worst it was taking up 700MB!

I just checked News in the Cloud and mine showed 425MB on iOS 14. I deleted the data.

I thought this was normal. Since the stories open instantaneously I assumed it downloaded new content to your phone every time it refreshes. Mine always seems to use at least 500 mb of storage for both iPhones I've owned. I never thought twice about it.

sorry dude, that only made it worse 😂 deleting the app and restoring it seems to do the trick, if only for one night 🤦🏻‍♂️

Mine uses 200mb. I use news app daily multiple times a day.

Can you still use it? Mine is refreshing all the time, reloading and has articles displayed multiple times. My + subscription is not recognized and I have to restart the app

Mine is working fine with the exception of:

In CarPlay when I scroll down to browse the audio stories, it will immediately scroll the top. Really annoying

But... Same for News App on iPad. Scroll down on a topic and it refreshes and takes you to the top.

Anyone else?

Yes it does this to me too. Annoying.
