it's gotta be iMac. some people (such as my parents) call all apple computers iMacs.
"So Will, how much is that new iMac laptop?"
"It's called a MacBook, Dad!"

For the next revision, the iMac will be encased entirely in a biodegradable substance made out of crushed macadamia nuts thus it will be called MacAdemia. People who love apples and use the MacAdamias will be called Macadamia Nuts.

It could also be
"Mac"
"MacMac"

or

"i" doesn't stand for "Internet" or w/e. It stands for "Intel". That's my justification.

If apple wanted the word "mac" in all their product names why change powerMAC to mac pro, do a google search on mac pro and you get cosmetics and stuff, not with the powermac? so why not call the iMac mac inthe middle as opposed to mac mini and mac pro, maybe just mactop since macbook is amc ntebook mactop can be mac desktop? dunno, it's up to steve?

iMack, it should come with little apple-women trinkets that also can be used as speakers. The mac itself is sexy, even in its current form.

No. It already has Mac in the name. Plus, Apple aren't going to loose the only computer they sell with the famous 'i'-brand.

Countless items are named with the 'i'.

Never underestimate the i.

Because the 'Power' part of the name represented PowerPC chips - which Apple no longer uses.

Can it be possible for the sum of 100's of people to second guess Steve Jobs? Err... probably not (Intel chips as case in point) but one of these days he's gonna do something obvious!

Anyway, Apple seems intent on calling computers that runs the Mac operating system Mac - something, and at the same time relegating the 'i' prefix to accessories, software and devices that don't run Mac!

My guess is Mac Media because it conveys media as in communication and also media as in intermediate.

I like the iMac name but somthing tells me it's not here for very long and just Mac would confuse!

I think that just "Mac" would confuse people. As said in an older thread,

Person 1: "I just bought a Mac today."
Person 2: "Cool, which one?"
Person 1: "A Mac."
Person 2: "What?!"

I said that in an older post :D

Yea iMac is here to stay! Probably the reason they changed iBook to MacBook so the MacBook Pro and MacBook could be called the MacBook family. Changing iMac to Mac would be REALLY confusing!
