And we are back to the same nonsense.

But yet a new message from google play...

Are they trying to see how many idiots will still keep trying???

Michael
(Fellow idiot.)

At least they're not sold out. Seriously, how can Google not be able to handle high traffic?

Weird, I'm getting the same notice on the canadian store even though it shouldn't really be available for purchase right now...

Oh this was a good one:
They had SOLD OUT on the Nexus ordering page but "Nexus 4 is not sold out" in the top banner. Can they make up their freaking mind and, I don't know, maybe not contradict themselves on the same page.

Also several times I ended up with two in my shopping cart and it even tried to add another but wouldn't because of the two device limit.

Why in two weeks they could let it STICK in the cart is beyond me.

This is going to make me fearful of trusting online shopping carts anymore.

Sold out again...but here is a technique that seems to work!

My friend was able to buy his Nexus 4 16gb using this method, and the "The Verge" forums seems to corroborate this.

Here are some screenshots of the comment thread.

Seems like someone was able to get one even after 45 mins into the sale

What method??

Mike

The image I posted is not working?

Well basically its about spamming the proceed button.
Some of them tweaked the method a bit by having multiple tabs open, and clicking "refresh all'. One guy had about 16 tabs open..so in each refresh there was at least one nexus that was 'available"..then he went ahead and spammed the proceed button on that page. One of them was able to get it after 45 mins into the sale.

here are some of the comments copy pasted in the event you are not able to see the screenshot i posted above

Did you repeatedly hit Proceed or periodically? We need some technique here.

oh no, my goal was a 1000 clicks per second, like trying to get the high score in a button-masher

Hover cursor over Proceed button, steady mouse with left hand, right index finger on 1000 clicks/sec!

THIS WORKS! Here’s what I did, using firefox loaded up a bunch of tabs on the 16gb model, then would use reload all tabs, CTRL tabbed until I found a page that had it in stock, finally, when it got added to the cart, I spammed the add to cart button A LOT! It took me like 5 minutes, keep trying guys!

I can verify that spamming proceed works also.

citizencoyote's reply:
Holy crap. After nearly 45 minutes of constant clicking I decided to try the click as fast as humanly possible method. After about a minute the Wallet window popped up and the rest of the ordering process went quickly. Confirmation email just arrived as I typed this, woot.
So yeah, if you get one in your cart, rapid fire click on proceed and do not give up or refresh!

Spamming the proceed button.

Well since that is what triggers the all-too-common cart removal I am now leaving mine "age" in the shopping cart. Maybe she will start to get used to being there and will resist getting yanked out. I've already told her what a good home she would be coming to. (We won't be mentioning what happened to her sister.)

Honestly that "method" plus other people hitting refresh like crazy is what is causing all these, civil ddos :D

Sucks big time, you know its good to go when the little window pops

And at 5:26MST my order FINALLY went through!!!!

I hung in there lol.

Think I could have gotten an 8GB order to go through easier but I did that last time when I really wanted a 16GB. Gonna sell the 8GB. That said I have been trying all sorts of apps and things and still have 3-4GB free.

Oh, got my Google play confirmation email right away too.

So if you want one KEEP trying even now!

Just be aware that the shipping time keeps increasing. Basically they are putting everyone who orders on backorder and all of the errors and bugs were intentional so they didn't get bogged down at once.

Google finally did what we asked for. They made it hard for scalpers and gave us a kind of preorder. The 8GB is now up to 7-8 weeks. I ordered at the 4-5 week mark so I hope that I was in the first natch and that mine goes out sooner. Ideally it will go out in 2 weeks or sooner but that won't happen.

Oh yes very much aware of the increasing shipping times. For the 16GB it had just gotten up to 2-3 weeks. Hopefully sooner but not too bad. Hope they all come in sooner. :)

This is what they should've done on November 13. About time.

As it stands, though, because my interest has waned, and because I found out I won't be taking the mobile application development course in the spring as I thought I would, but in the fall instead, I can wait. I'll stick with my 4S until the contract runs out, and see what's going on then.

To the rest of you, have fun with the Nexus! From all accounts it's a fantastic device!

Still available

Glad to hear that you guys were mostly able to get it.

The phone is still available now, and the site seems to be working much smoother(less errors). So in case some of you guys missed out on the morning rush...go for it now.

The Shipping has increased to 4-5 weeks for the 16 gig Nexus 4 thought.
I guess its pretty much Google's version of a preorder queue

I used the method that was posted on the droid life comments. I bought two 16gb nexus 4 around 6:25 pm using the following method. I hit the tab button until the proceed button was highlighted, i then pressed and held down the enter button. It instantly took me to the google wallet. The process took less then 12 seconds start to finish and im in the 2-3 week shipment range.

I didn't know about this one until after I bought. Wasted an hour and 45 minutes clicking when I could have been done in 12 seconds!
