The Nexus 10 has a better processor, more RAM, and higher screen resolution. It seems to win the gaming argument hands down. but what about the apps for Android tablets (aren't they pretty much minimal)?

No. They have every big name app iOS has.

I voted Nexus 7 but I already own it in a 16GB variant. Before getting my Nexus 7 I had a 10in tab and boy I just love the 7 so much more. Jobs was way wrong about the 7in tab market. For me, I wanted a tab for the living room couch. Something easy to use to check emails and surf the net. The 7 fits easier in my hands than a 10 and it doesn't take up nearly as much space on the table. I love the 7 form factor. I doubt I will ever own another 10 tab again.

It's funny...I just got rid of the N7.
I really like android but I just found the 7 inch screen too small to comfortably view the web with. I don't take any devices other than my cell phone out of the home, so the portability factor isn't an issue.

I guess the grass always seems greener on the other side!

Everyone definitely has their own preference. I didn't buy my Nexus 7 to be my laptop or desktop replacement. I still have my laptop and office. I wanted a simple device to keep on the coffee table in the living room to access the web and check email. I now use the Nexus more then I do my laptop. So much so that I'm seriously thinking about selling the laptop and just sticking with a Phone/Tab/Office setup. I did have a 10 tab before but now that I've used the 7 I doubt I will ever go back. The Nexus 7 is the sweet spot for me as far as tabs go.

After having passed along my iPad 1 and spent 8 months waiting for the mini, I just made an order for the Nexus 7. It really came down to price, portability and diversification.

The mini will see some upgrades in the next couple of years and maybe then I'll judge how my android adventure went and if a fall back is to be considered. After having lived with the iPhone for the past 8 months, I wanted a bigger screen but wouldn't shell out for the unportable full sized iPad nor the mini that won't fit in my pocket as the Nexus hopefully will.

I also felt imprisoned in the Apple ecosystem which is not bad, but I'm limiting myself from different experiences. I plan on continuing upgrading my iPhone every few years and maintaining the Mac as my computer though.

Is ther a decent 10" tablet with hi-res screen, 32 Gb storage and LTE? Seems only the iPad has all that.

The only device that comes to mind is the ASUS Transformer but I don't know if they have LTE, those are sold at Best Buy. Might want to check Lenovo and the new MS Surface Pro due out in a few months.
