My first nexus was "galaxy nexus" (nexus 3) and it was pretty good one. Good value for money. I havent bought nexus 6 because i have 5 and Oneplus One which i prefer. The battery life has always been a compromise in Nexuses, but i dont think it has been bad ever. It is not amazing, but not bad either. It just "is".

Nexus has been a budget price device and of course all the specs are somewhat compromised. I dont think Nexus 5 has a bad camera at all. It takes decent pics and Google has always been quite good for adding new features to the cam software.

So im not quite sure why you say "crappy this and that"...

It's not a budget device anymore.

Uhhh b/c it's true and I owned a Nexus 4 and 5 lol. And you didn't pay attention to what I said, I said "previously" and they turned around with the 4 and 5, specifically the 5. But even the 5 battery life rom'd wasn't as good as my S5 when it was stock TW, and camera though much better than previous Nexus phones still not as good as the S5, . But the 5 was the first Nexus device that was really solid all around and didn't really feel gimped that much vs competition and didn't suffer from many bugs/issues like before, great phone, but overall prefer my S5 quite better.

So you are actually compairing the 350dollars phone to the 700dollars phone which was released six months later. Judging nexus 5 by compairing it with double costly s5 is somewhat useless. If you think about camera Nexus5 has "only" 8mb cam while s5 has 16mb cam - and you see the price difference. So yes, overall feelings about s5 should be much better.

And hence you support what some of us were trying to say, and you still missed what I was saying before and what the OP asked. I said "previously" they felt like guinea pig phones regardless of price, I remember all my friends that had Nexus 1-3 devices years ago and all the trouble they had. 4 started the turn around, and 5 was a much more solid all around device whereas before the phones felt seriously gimped in various ways, but also they were never made to be top spec devices but Dev devices instead. I had an i777 S2 before the Nexus 4 and still had it while I had the 4 and 5.

So in short, yes, "previously" the phones felt like guinea pigs between all the bugs and issues and gimped specs like camera etc with 1-3... but when they brought out the 4 is when they started being more competitive and the 5 was much more solid in terms of specs and less issues and bugs then before. Thats all I was saying.

I got it - sorry, english is not my first language so i may sound abit straight most of the time :D

i do not remember having troubles with nexus3. I didnt have 1-2 so i dont know about them but on that time android was in baby shoes and had lots of things to improve. but i think nexus3 was already fine. not sure, it was so many years ago...

but on some way nexus is a guinea pig for android os, but what becomes devices nowadays, they are good. not excellent but good. the price tag for nexus6 is somewhat questionable because nexus5 was so inexpensive. but is it expensive compared other devices in the same price?

No worries. I'm contemplating what I would do next, love the S5 and especially its water resistance which for me is priceless in South FL and fishing on boat etc. But Sammy is getting to be too much of a headache with rooting and roms and who knows if that'll even be possible on them in the future with devs leaving Sammy. Wish they'd do unlocked bootloader ones like HTC offered with the M8. Nexus 6 is way to big for me, so I'll pry go Sony next.

These are the Androids I would buy if they had card slot and removable battery.

I think Google Glass for $1500 was a guinea pig/experimental line. The ChromePixel line is geared toward Google/tech hardcores and developers alike.

Nexus isn't as mainstream as Apple, Samsung, and several others but I think they already went beyond the stage of experimenting with a $600-$700 Nexus 6.

I don't think you understand what Nexus is. Unlike Apple, Google doesn't manufacture Nexus hardware it just licenses and provides management guidance, support, and marketing for a major manufacturer to produce a "clean" android OS device. Samsung, LG, Motorola Mobility, HTC, and Asus have all manufactured various Nexus tablets and phones.
