Thinking I'm going to have to reset my Pixel XL, the battery and Bluetooth aren't quite up to snuff.
Well they stopped selling Nexus devices when pixel launched even to countries where the pixel didn't launch they pulled the Nexus being sold, so I would guess they won't continue selling the current pixel at all. Will Google continue to sell first gen Pixels, and how much will they be discounted, I wonder.
Well, it looks like the Bluetooth issue isn't just me.

The Pixel and Pixel XL have always had very iffy issues with Bluetooth, I think Oreo simply confirms that the issue is not software but clearly hardware as two operating systems, one of which had numerous updates and were still at square one with Bluetooth issues.
It isn't just Pixel owners, though. Nexus owners are also experiencing issues. Heck, I went a whole week without issues and then the final build somehow caused new ones to show up.
Yeah but Bluetooth has always been patchy at best. At no point has it been flawless - at least on my Pixel and I've had 3 different SKU's all of which exhibited the same Bluetooth issues.
Possibly, though anectodatly I never had BT issues on the Nexus 6 or Nexus 6P ...Yeah. I still think there's just something wrong with BT in AOSP. I mean, Samsung seems to be getting it right.

Just hope they have it all sorted for Pixel 2.
Weirdly, th 6P is one of the phones supposedly having issues with O and Bluetooth. So they broke it when they supposedly fixed it.
Well, it was back in Marshmallow days when I got rid of my otherwise awesome 6P due to Bluetooth issues.
Yeah it's possible I wasn't using Bluetooth headphones with that device as often so never noticed. I didn't have my blaze watch syncing via Bluetooth then either, so again I likely just never noticed the Bluetooth issue.
Well that's my exact problem with the pixel described to a tee.It was a smallish but hugely annoying issue. The sound would cut off for a second every minute or so. With podcasts it was annoying but not quite a dealbreaker, but when I listened to music it was maddening. Many others seemed to have the same issue, so it wasn't just my device.
I personally at this stage suspect hardware too given we have had several supposed 'fix' updates. Heck they even tried to blame it on a server side issue with Google Play Music at one stage which ignores the fact the issues were still there even if you were not using GPM to playback the audio.I'm still waiting for Oreo on my Pixel. Waiting for OTA. Has anyone successfully updated over the air here?
Also my two pence on Bluetooth.. I use my phone to stream Apple music and take phone calls through my car and I have to agree with the previous comments. The Pixel although did the job I always felt the experience could be smoother.. hardware I suspect!

So I used the Beta method to force update to Oreo.
Maybe initial impressions but I don't find Oreo as smooth as Nougat.. app loading especially feels slower!
That's a real shame.. hopefully things improve!

Where are you based? I noticed Carphone Warehouse has already started discounting the first gen here in the UK
