I use B.iCycle as a replacement for my old school bike computer and I'm very happy with it. I have a bike mount on the handle bar

With the type of mtb biking I do, there is no way I'd mount my iPhone in a clamp on the handle bars. I have a Cateye there and wouldn't dream of subjecting the iPhone to those sort of shocks 'n vibes. I'll use a conventional map if on a trail I don't know and the iPhone strictly for record keeping, safely tucked up in my Camelbak.

Dude I am with you! It took me about 8 month just to feel comfortable with bringing my iPhone as I do some crazy ridding (mountain only). Now I use a great pouch that fits my iPhone with case and all that velcros very securely to my pack. But as far as app are concerned I don't use any calorie counting one cause I could care less, what I want is some good topo maps.
Thanks is why I use GPS Kit 100% - it is actually my favorite app that I own and I have a lot! Google Topos with the shading so that you know it is up hill or down. It lets me import other peoples track and export my tracks, and even provides each user with their own web space to host tracks and waypoint!!

The best part about GPS Kit I can't even tell you since I am helping with the Beta testing a the new version I promised not to disclose the feature till it came out in the app store - but believe me I have my other friends with iPhone that Mt. bike with me and it is awesome feature to have!!

Anyway I use it to GPS or tracking app to know were I am on a trail so that I don't waste time going the wrong way - unless I feel like I want to explore!

But just for your info GPS Kit is not quite ready for the 3.0 firmware (it works but slightly buggy) but the developers just seeded me with a new beta to test and they are all over it!!

I got the 3GS with OS 3.0 the day when it came out and was a little bit scared that some apps might not work anymore. However, most all my apps that I use a lot including the cyclometer app B.iCycle worked very well with the new device and software combination. I'm really happy about that!

Runkeeper looks great. But the problem is I have an iPhone 2g so no gps for me therefore runkeeper is out of my list. Just the Nike plus makes me want to buy the new iohone and that was the plan but since I am in Canada if I want to ge it I have to sign up to a 3 yr data plan sooo just for Nike plus that's not worth it for me I am always somehwrre with wifi so no need for data here. Not like it's cheap in Canada anyways 30 bucks just for dat a month forgte that. I'm wondering now with 3.0 is there no way to make the regular iPod+ Nike receiver work? Since it now allows for 3rd party "dockables". There must be a way.
