One of the red tshirt guys at Paris Opéra Apple Store said they have a few of the quad and hex base models in stock. Also said the 7 flagship Apple Stores will all have the Sharp 4K monitor on display (and I confirm it runs at 60Hz and it is a beauty !). Don't know which other six stores those are apart from Paris Opéra.

60Hz? The nMP/Sharp on display in Santa Monica was only running at 30Hz and display properties had setting options only for 24Hz and 30Hz... No 60Hz option.

The monitor has to be set into multiple stream (MST) vs single stream (SST). When I got there the Apple guy was doing the switch, apparently they haven't all been briefed yet, and FCP X was still at it's 10.0.9 version... They're still ironing out the details.

But I confirm that once the Sharp is set the MST mode it runs at 60 Hz, and you can clearly see when it fires up that it's split in two and the left half lights up before the right.

Hong Kong IFC location, six core model. Apple Thunderbolt Display.

One in the London Covent Garden store hooked up to Sharp 4K display. Both the nmp and the display looked amazing. Whilst I was there, two super eager members of staff came over and starting feeling it up saying that they've only just had time to come around to have a look. They were almost dribbling over it.

I saw one in Costa Mesa, California.

Nobody seemed interested in it except me, but there were lots of fingerprints on it, so somebody had been playing with it.

It did not like rotating.

Thanks to all who reported in. I think it isn't worth it to go on though, I snooped around an Apple Store and they told me that by the end of next week all Apple Stores should have a model on display. They'll be attached to 4K displays according to the importance of the Store.

Thanks again.
