I believe you are doing the right thing to do, but...are taking risks!

I got a replacement. It has the same problem on the same area. Talked with Apple executive relation again. They want to identify this problem in production process. So, you guys can have flawless machine. I will have to ship it back to them for inspection. Am I being useful?

You should go have a look the nMP in the clear tube in Apple store. It looks flawless in every detail.

I do not agree with the hysterical people found in different posts in this forum afraid that every return of a nMP might make them wait longer for their ordered nMP.
I believe that such an expensive machine cannot show blemishes either inside or outside and if something can be done to improve its production, then it should be done.
However I agree with those who mentioned other problems still unsolved, much more annoying and not present in your computer according to your experience.
The kind of noise reported by many users is in my opinion a much greater problem that scratches inside the computer.
To get a scratch free machine which however makes annoying noises would be a very bad change.
I hope it does not happen to you.

Well said!

I really do find peoples expectation staggering. Yes, I 'd be more than a bit miffed if the nMP came with a dent, but small defects in the finish will be well within excepted tolerance. This is even more acceptable if the blemish is on the inside!

My M series BMW does not have a perfect paint job. It's very nice, but there are small areas that are not perfect. You'd have to spend some time very carefully inspecting and running your hands over the paint to detect them, but they are there nevertheless. Do they in any way detract from the overall appearance? No. Do they affect the performance in any way? No. Am I going to insist they strip and repaint the whole car...?

I am polite and courteous and accept that, despite our aspirations, life is less than perfect. I have never had any issues with a customer service department and have always been well looked after. I have subsequently had may Apple products serviced, repaired and replaced well after warranty. What goes around, comes around. I honestly think a lot of folks would be far better off if they were a tad more pragmatic. It's not my place to point out that I think people are being unreasonable! I am just happy to sit in the corner receiving preferential treatment because you guys make me look good! :D
