2007 was the year Apple switched to aluminum and glass on the front. The poster you quoted is just happy he doesn't have one of the Late 2006 (white plastic) models sold into 2007 that Apple tried to force into obsolescence years ago.Glad you made it clear you had the ‘aluminum’ model. My 2017 ‘cardboard’ iMac is really struggling. Think I’ll opt for the aluminum version next time.

It may seem like a long time from now, but the 2017 iMac will continue to outperform plenty of supported Macs such as the Core i3 Mac mini (Late 2018) and 13" Mac laptops.
