Two 6 core x5675's installed. Next weekend I think I will install the digidesign cards. Is on a 2010 Mac Pro a wifi card with bluetooth standard?

Installed three HD accel cards in 2010 Mac Pro and an OWC ssd bracket. None of the cards said it was the core card. So I just installed it the best I could.
I ordered a secondhand Pro Tools 10 ilok and license from the USA. First it said it would arrive 2 januari. Now it says 3 februari. Well. We'll see how that goes.
I downloaded an unregistered Protools 10 software pakket from Avid. It contained a tool called digitest. That application can test HD cards. So I found out the middle card was a core card. Placed that one in the top pci-e slot and then connected the little card connectors so the cards talk to each other. Digitest now says they are happy and they see the converter that is attached over digilink.

Here you can see that each card will be connected with those little card connectors. So if you purchase a set. Make sure they come with two card connectors.
Purchased a apple Magic trackpad 1 to go together with the magic (bluetooth) keyboard I got for free with my first Mac Pro.
I bought a Pro tools license in the USA. But tracking is kinda funny atm. And I bid on a 8HD license. We'll see if that will go through. If the 8HD license will go through I will be able to start purchasing analog digisnakes. After I tested the whole system with both 192's connected.

Tracking of the PT10 license has been resolved. And today a PT8HD license has arrived. It came with an ilok that allso contains a virus Indigo TDM plugin. So essentially I got myself a virus synthesizer. That's pretty wilde.
Allso now this weekend I can start testing the full Protools rig. I have to wait untill I acquired 4 analog digisnakes to complete the setup.

Protools has disk cache. This feature means you can load (if you have enough RAM) the whole audio session into Ram. This means that the Protools session, when all audio is in cache, will feel very responsive.

I still have to buy 3 or 4 db25 to db25 cables (in the Tascam analog spec (wich is what Digidesign uses) and some bnc cables for loop sync. Wich makes the 192's clock to each other.

This is the inside of a 192 converter. You see that the cards are connected with ribboncables. These were loose in my two 192's. In the digidesign 192's there was a standard configuration of left top analog input left bottom analog output and right top a digital card (with tdif and adat) leaving one slot free for expansion.
In the newer 192's there seems to be some more freedom.
I hope others who are interested in the avid HD and HDX hardware will get something out of my documentation I provide here.
You can get all sorts of patch bays for the db25 Tascam spec. So if you build a studio with a control room and a live room. You can use a db25 to db25 cable to attach a patchbay to in your live room.

My cables arrived to start testing the Mac Pro with the two 192's and the Control24. I hope during the coming months to configure my other Mac Pro with another digidesign or avid card. I have bought an extention on the new Pro tools Artist. So I will own this license, I hope. But the serial I got from the shop I bought it from doesn't work. Now Avid and the shop need to work it out I am told.
The Mac Pro with HD3 cards came with a Virus indigo license. I hope once I have installed the Mac with the Control24 I can start testing the Virus. And my Arturia drum computer.

The extention to unlimited wasn't to be. It is kinda a way to buy support for when you buy Protools artist Perpetual. That you buy support and updates. So I will have to buy a Perpetual license.
Currently I am building a mixing desk to fit the Control24.

I was able to purchase another Pro Tools 8HD license. And my first 8HD license was exchanged for a PT10HD license. The second 8HD license will come on an ilok 1. That ilok has the ability to accept phone memory like chips.
You can buy sort of phone cards with digidesign plugin licenses on them. That way I can expand old PT8HD with unused plugins.
Alltho it might be a challenge to get the installer.
