I have a Pioneer Kuro and Pioneer surround amp and recently signed up for three months of free Apple TV+ from Comcast. Enjoying the content [particularly See], but really disappointed in not getting 5/1 Dolby. Are there any workarounds to get 5.1? Seems that setting option is not found on Apple TV+. Thanks for any insight.

FWIW, I'm not seeing Dolby from the Apple TV+ app either (via AirPlay from iOS). Am getting Dolby Digital from OTA signal on the TV and also with AirPlay playback of Safari-based Dolby content. Sounds like an issue with the Apple TV+ app (software bug)...

PS. ARC is compatible with lossy Dolby Digital Plus (ie. Dolby as utilized by all streaming services).

Apple TV decodes Dolby Digital to output PCM. That's why it doesn't light up on your receiver.
