All you people claiming that you don't notice the lack of Flash at all - do you really not visit sites like walmart.com, nba.com, and the sites of most chain restaurants?

lol no. walmart.com and nba.com are two sites I have never thought of going to.

Most sites are a non issue or I just don't care if flash is gone. Would love it if flash was gone because then I wouldn't have to keep allowing it via noscript on my Macs and PCs. It is quite nice when ads don't load. *******.com is iPad friendly btw. :p

lol I know :p

Funny how there are assorted utilities specifically to block flash from traditional browsers... I can't remember the last time I saw an annoying ad now that I surf via iPad.

Clicktoflash on my imac for the longest time so there realy has not been a lack of flash shock.

I wouldn't say that it's a non issue for me, but it's certainly not a deal breaker. I notice that about 75% of the videos I want to watch are viewable on my iPad. Even ustream live streams work!

Never been to nba.com, only been to walmart.com twice in five years I think on my computer an food? I rarely order food online and if I do it;s on my Mac.

I will use safari on an iPad about as much as I use safari on my iPhone. Maybe once or twice a month.

Walmart and chain restaurants? That's good reason enough not to have Flash. :D

As a developer, I've noticed people asking for Flash websites less and less, so it seems like a trend to move away from that. Although Flash still has it's uses so it won't go away at least not for a long while until suitable replacements occur and become mainstream (HTML 5, etc).

Only been using my pad for 3 days so this is just a first impression. I have spent about 20 hours extensively checking out the pad experience on the web and used both wireless and 3G in different situations. I have found one instance where there was a blank where there should have been video content, surprisingly another site advised the need to install flash yet that video as well as the rest of the site worked just fine. I thought I would have buyers remorse, yet all I feel is happiness that this device does exactly what I wanted it to do.
:)

There's no point in anyone whining about it anymore, Jobs made it quite clear that there will be no Flash on Apple's mobile devices. Period. Either you buy into it or you don't and go somewhere else. All we have to do now is sit back and watch how it plays out in the market. Personally I think Jobs' gamble will win, Flash has already started a slow death spiral into irrelevance. A few years from now there will probably be over 150 million iPhone OS devices out there, none of them running Flash. If you're a web developer, that's pretty hard to ignore, especially since most of the advertising dollars are moving to the mobile space.

There is an actual Walmart every 3 miles why would you use walmart.com?

Was at Babies R Us and wanted to compare the price of something against the price at Walmart. The site worked okay for what I needed, I just noticed the big "Install Flash" boxes too.

No flash on my iPad is not a big deal for me since I use a 64-bit browser on my PC and Adobe still hasn't developed a 64-bit version for it yet. I've learned to adapt without it.
